Excellent Product
Very impressed - it comes with a cleaning cloth and very thorough instructions (both on the packaging and on the peel-off layers each side of the screen). As well as the cloth, I also used some isopropyl alcohol to make doubly sure there was no dust on the screen. If you make sure the screen is dust free, line it up fully and apply it without any air bubbles, it's invisible. Very happy with that. They've got the thickness just right. It's enough to provide a good amount of protection but still flexible enough to be easy to apply (it has some flex to it but isn't floppy.. about the same flex as a paperback book cover) I think it's strange that people would mark it down slightly due to the need to remove dust or apply it straight - that's a given for any stick on solution and there's no way around it. It's not hard to do - I found it was fine on the first application but as I understand it, it does allow for repositioning if you don't get it straight on the first attempt...my only crit would be that it's quite expensive for what is essentially a piece of sticky plastic. Given what it does, however, it IS well worth it - our Ixus has a whopping great scratch on the screen that could have easily been avoided with one of these. If you've got an X100s, it's really worth it to protect the screen and if you apply this carefully you won't see it at all. Exactly what I wanted.

Brilliant product, exemplary customer service.
The screen protector is awesome! One of the most notable points about this product is the awesome customer service that ExpertShield provides - which, if you think about it, is absolutely essential in the success of a company that deals exclusively with screenguards, a product that carries such a notorious stigma. Let me explain: First, I was a fool not to heed the advice of the packet, and didn't apply the protector in a 'steamy environment'. HEED THIS ADVICE! Run a shower in your bathroom for few mins, and do it in there. To do it in any other environment is asking for disaster - if even one little speck gets under in the process, you'll kick yourself. Saying this, all is not lost, as the screen protector is extremely durable and may be cleaned easily. (But again, do this somewhere steamy, please!) Second important thing: if you do need to lift the protector once it's been applied, use PROPER STICKY TAPE. Like sellotape brand, or something. I, again, was a fool and tried to use PVC electrical tape, and that didn't provide the lifting force needed. I then tried to peel the protector off using my fingernail - BIG MISTAKE! I permanently damaged the corner of the protector. Whoops. It still works fine, and will probably last a while before any dust gets under it, but it's visible and not so nice like this. So, coming back to customer service - I sent one email explaining my scenario to Expert Shield, who were very receptive and good enough to send a replacement protector via first class post immediately. They mean it when they say 100% satisfaction guaranteed! Like I said, this is the only viable business model for a company that deals exclusively with products of such notorious rep ,and Expert Shield have got it right, and do it so very well for that matter. All in all, an excellent product experience, don't let the issue of putting a screenguard on put you off. It's well worth it, and once you've done it, your camera will be well protected. One last note: My fave thing is that I can wear my Fuji round my neck without fear that metal zips on my jackets will scratch it! This danger would have normally put me off carrying it like this, but in allowing me to do so, the 'creative' value of my camera is increased three fold - the best camera is the camera you have with you (or round your neck).

The negative reviews are correct
First and foremost, these screen protectors are just flimsy plastic and no better than the cheapest screen protectors you can buy (and I’ve been using these things for more than 20 years). The biggest problem with this particular product is that it’s cut to exactly the same dimensions as the camera’s screen, rather than being slightly smaller.. consequently, the protector must be fitted perfectly or it will overlap onto the camera body, which is not flush with the screen, creating an air gap under the protector. I mis-aligned mine by a fraction of a millimetre, creating a 5mm wide bubble along the bottom right of the screen. I pealed the screen off and re-aligned it, but I was again out by a fraction of a millimetre, and I had extra bubbles and dust under the screen, too, so it’s gone in the bin. Save yourself the hassle and buy a multi-pack for a fraction of the price from elsewhere, or you could get the same experience of this product by removing a ten pound note from your wallet and setting it on fire. To add insult to injury, the instructions were written by children who think they were being funny (“don’t put marmite on the screen protector”). Thanks for that wisdom, kids. How about concentrating on designing a product that doesn’t suck?
