Overview of the German Army (1918-1945)...
This book is another in the series, "World War II Data Book" which is published by Amber Publishing. Some books in the series are better than others. Like the other books in this series, this volume has many easy-to-follow charts, drawings, graphs and maps to digest in the form of a reference guide. It contents:History of the German Army (covering the end of World War I through the Reichswehr-1935).The German Army before World War II (1933-1939).Command Structure of the German Army. The Panzerwaffe (Armoured Forces of the German Army).Infantry of the Feldheer (The Field Army).Artillery.Support and Auxillary Services.Appendices.The Wehrmacht was the unified armed forces of Germany from 1935 to 1945. Even through the book is entitled "The Wehrmacht" (from German: Wehren, to defend and Macht, might), it really focuses on the Heer (army); the land forces of Hitler's war machine. It gives a pretty good overview in 192 pages. I must say an even more in depth book on the land forces of Nazi Germany is: "Hitler's Armies: A History of the German War Machine 1939-1945" by Chris McNab (2011). It is put out by Osprey Publishing. 432 pages. ISBN: 978-1849086479.

Not a serious reference book.
The book has some interesting tables and charts, but nothing -- absolutely nothing -- is sourced. The very brief bibliography list Time-Life books and a Reader's Digest book among the sources. Of very limited value. And it is not about the Wehrmacht, just the army.
