A smaller book than I imagined, but a comprehensive explanation of the Indian classical Odissi dance. Chapters cover origin and development, historical development, repertoire, costume and makeup, technique, music plus more. The book contains colour images of dancers, both female and male, in Odissi postures and the costuming is shown in good detail. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this book to anyone interested in the Indian classical arts.

Bought for daughter at Christmas and she really loves this book. Quite small but good value for the price paid.

Small hand book giving a brief general overview of Odissi to someone totally ignorant of it. Coming from one of the doyens of Kelubabu, it fails to match expectations of learning from the master. Pupils of the Odissi dance keen on mastering their skill and technique will have to look else where. Speedily delivered. Average buy.

Like other books of same genre, this book is also introductory in nature.Meant mostly for layman to know a little about this form of dance.
