Fun to Use, Not Built For Heavy Use or Seriously Bodacious Curves
So, I've had this for about two and a half years now. You know, despite the fact that sometimes things can happen in life that stink worse then the local dairy farm, I'm generally a loving life kind of girl. And I love to try new things, that's part of what I think makes life so joyful, and a couple years back I thought it would be cool to learn belly dancing. And seriously. Belly dancing is just way more fun if you've got one of these to do it with. However, while this arrived without defect, and all of the coins and beads are present and in good shape, I noticed from the stitching that this would probably not hold up to regular use. I have enclosed a picture of an area where the stitching is currently unraveling, and I should note that because of my initial observation, I don't use this particular item very often. So in my opinion, it's a "sometimes" kind of product if belly dancing is something you are getting this for. Unless you're prepared to repair as often as need be. I don't use it most of the time I'm shimmying, because I don't think it would hold up to heavy amounts of that, and I have limited amounts of repair time right now. But it is super fun to have and use sometimes. I think it is also important to note that I'm a US size 8, and I think this fits me well. If you're a more bodacious woman, this may not go as far around you as you'd want it to.

Fun Hip Wrap - Great Value!
I think this hip wrap is a great value.* the one I received looked exactly like the one in the picture - three rows of coins - about 50 or so coins per row - vibrant red color, a little lighter red than what you would find on a Campbells soup can* the rayon is thin and lightweight - sheer is a good word. The coins are costume 'coins', but the quantity of coins and beading do add a little bit of weight to the wrap.* The non-coined ends that you tie into a bow are about 12-14" long each. The coined part (the rest) is about 30"-33" long. Additionally, from top of scarf on hip to bottom of coins is about 12-13" so it generally covers the hip/butt area. For reference, I am a size 12-14 woman, it didn't cover me exactly like the picture, but I am not the size of the woman in the picture either (helps to be realistic, lol)* boy does this wrap jingle!* care does need to be taken with the wrap considering the handstitching...the coins can get tangled up. I wouldn't recommend leaving it around kids/pets.With this purchase and for the few dollars paid, my expectation was not for a cream-of-the-crop-belly-dancer-champion costume, just a fun hip wrap for a last-minute, unexpected enrollment in a city rec program belly dancing class.I'm very pleased with what I've received and feel like a sensual belly dancer dancing with this wrap on. Good times!

For a Very Petite Woman
I specifically searched "Plus size" hip scarves. Bought at least a dozen from this seller in various colors because they were so cheap. The shipping is where they get you...Back to my complaint though. It says the scarf is 65" wide. If you hold the little tiny points at the very longest minute tip of the fabric and stretch the seem stitching across a tape measure you get somewhere close to 65". Arrgh! It's also very short. I do have a butt. It's my God given gift. This does not cover it or my hips. This scarf sits on top of my hips. I am a tall woman, 5' 10.5". I suppose if you were average height you'd be okay with the length. I hate that these things creep up and wind up being a belt by the end of my workout. This is one of the problems with Amazon allowing sellers from China take over most of their apparel sales. The sizing is not standard U.S. sizing. So far my experience has been items made for very petite people. The time it takes to come through customs is also a problem. You don't find out your exact ship date until after the purchase is made. Expect the very last day for your purchase to arrive. So that I don't break the "If you don't have anything nice to say" rule, the scarf is a thick synthetic fiber (probably polyester) with lots and lots of coins and beads.

Not bad for the price
I bought this and a black hip scarf at the same time. My reviews for both products are essentially the same even though the two scarves are from different companies: This scarf is decent quality for the price. I am a size 12-14, and the scarf fits me just fine. The material is thin, but with sufficient strength for tying. I have worn this many times both for belly dance practice and for Zumba classes, and I have not had a problem with coins falling off. However, dancers looking for a performance quality hip scarf would do better to look elsewhere. This is great for practice or casual use only, and hence my caveat about "for the price".

Good belt for an amateur
I'm an amateur belly dancer, and I received this belt yesterday. The color is beautiful and the coins are bright and sonorous. With the three rows of coins, it's a nice-looking belt, but the fabric is slippery and somewhat flimsy. It kept sliding down my hips. I would not recommend this belt for a professional who performs with any frequency, but for an amateur who practices two or three times a week, this is a great belt for the price. If you do Egyptian style beledi, this is not the belt for you; it can't stand up to the level of shimmying you'll be doing, and it isn't great for Turkish style, either. It's a good belt for Arabian style beledi.

Need a little spice for your workout?
I have enjoyed listening to the jingle as I workout and it gave my ego a little pump to watch how well I could make the coins shake. The number of coins and the craft of the idem makes it an attractive look and fun to wear as you salsa or belly dance off the pounds. Take some of the emphasis off the worry about how you look and have fun with your workout with this idem. It's sturdy and stands up to the shaking and twisting needed to work off the pounds and still have fun. I would recommend this idem to push up the fun level to any workout.
