Works and small!
Newer TV's dont have a 3.5 mm output for sound! So needed something to convert the signal! ... the box works perfect! Easy to use! Great connectivity! .. small design! I could buy a new speaker but hey ... this was way cheaper in the meantime! Works perfect!

Works well!
I Interfaced a new 4k tv's audio optical output to an older Kenwood receiver that only has RCA inputs. Sounds great! The only drawback is Optical Audio doesn't let me adjust the volume (using the TV volume control) I have to adjust the volume using the Kenwood receiver. Otherwise this product delivers!

Simple and Effective DAC for Coaxial-to-RCA Conversion
I needed a device that could extract audio from a CD player via a digital coaxial cable and convert it to analog output for my mini amp using RCA cables. That’s when I came across this DAC with built-in digital-to-analog conversion. I thought—why not get a basic DAC that also handles the cable conversion I was looking for? There are both positive and negative reviews online about this product. One expert even called it “junk” with poor sonic quality, despite being a DAC. I chose to ignore that review because my primary need was the cable conversion functionality. After testing this DAC with my mini amp (which lacks a built-in DAC), I’m fully satisfied. The sound quality from the mini amp has clearly improved compared to when no DAC was used, and I now enjoy listening to my CD collection through this setup. Given its affordable price and reliable digital-to-analog conversion, I have no complaints at all.

It works !!
Affordable, easy to install, and worked as expected. The optical connector in the soundbar broke. This resolved the reconnection issue, plug the USB power cord into the TV .. 👍🏽

Amazing and Inexpensive
I have a high end vintage stereo system that does not have digital inputs. I had been using this in my basement audio/video room hooked up to an older TV that had rca line level outputs. When that tv died and I replaced it, I found that the new tv only has an optical output. Bought this super inexpensive DAC not knowing what to expect. WOW. I suppose the old tv was running that output through some garbage electronics and I got used to bad sound. I am shocked by the qualify audio with this DAC. Highs and midrange are clearer, bass impact and extension is perfect. And most obvious is the sense of space and imaging. I wish that old tv would have broke years ago!

Great cheap optical converter, but be prepared for a decrease in volume
This converter works great. It feels really well built with a solid metal body, and the connections are simple and work well with no noticeable noise or loss in quality. It even comes with a short optical cable! For my specific use-case, I bought this because I noticed some faint electrical noise coming from my PC line out jack when playing games that needed a lot of resources, and this allowed me to pull from the optical jack on my motherboard and output with a 3.5mm cable to my studio monitor controller and straight into my monitors. This completely got rid of the electrical noise, and has been working great. Two minor complaints I have with this converter: it does not include a USB power supply, which is a bit annoying. However, it's really not picky about the type you have as long as it's a very common 5V 1A plug, and it worked totally fine with one I salvaged from an old electric razor. This converter also caused a noticeable decrease in volume. This would not be an issue in a lot of scenarios, but since I was going from my PC to an optical converter, then into a passive studio monitor controller that already decreased the volume a fair bit, I had to do some tweaking. All my settings were maxed out, so I had to turn to a free third-party program called Equalizer APO to add a +8dB gain boost on my primary audio output. The program is a bit weird to use but I got it working after some trial-and-error, so now it's close to the original output level I was used to. Overall, this is a solid converter and a great option if you need a no-frills optical-to-analog converter, as long as you have some extra headroom to allow for the decrease in volume.
