Seems to work...
So we have 3 cats and one loves to swallow food whole then throw it up. We decided to try one of these slow feeders and since we have 3 cats I got this bigger one so they could all use it at once, and they do... it is big enough all three eat out of it at once. No recurrence of the inhaling food yet. The openings are big enough he probably could still shovel it down, but I think its enough deterrent that he has slowed his eating. I was worried about the other reviews where their cats chewed on the spikes but ours have refrained from that activity. I would say this was worth the buy if your pet is eating to fast.

Great b/c there’s no hard plastic that can break off
I love this slow feed bowl. My dog was suddenly scarfing his food down since the vet has him on steroids for a suspected illness & he had been throwing up since he was eating so quickly.I originally tried one of the hard plastic ones from Outward Hound, but during the second use, a sharp piece broke off from him trying to get the food. I didn’t know it at the time, but he evidently ate a small piece of the plastic that came off. That bowl obviously went in the garbage & I found this one. It’s silicone, easy to clean & no worry of any sharp plastic pieces breaking off.Because it is silicone, it’s wobbly. I just put it on a cookie sheet so I don’t spill food taking it to my dog’s crate. Plus, he probably feels special since it looks like I’m bringing him his tray of food! : )

Our dog seems to enjoy rummaging for his kibble.
It really does slow our big boy down. With a standard bowl, he finishes his meals in about two minutes. This takes him about five or six. I got a mat to put under it because he always manages to knock some food off of the silicone. I mix his food in his old bowl (with green beans and his vitamins) and then pour the food onto the silicone. I always leave a little food in the bowl, so he goes back and forth between the two. I think he thinks he's getting an extra helping. Have had no problem with him trying to chew the silicone after he's finished, but he's not much of a chewer anyway. I'd recommend picking it up after every meal, just in case. It can stand to be washed anyway once the meal is done.

If your cat will literally eat anything, beware.
First my cat chewed on the nubs (they're hollow & thin, so this was easily achieved) he was supposed to eat around creating holes, then picked up this bowl & flung it across the room. So much for the silicon sticking to the tile. I was really hopeful for this bowl to slow him down. :(

Worth it
I bought the large size for my 20 pound puppy. It has definitely slowed down her eating, it is a little big for her but she will soon grow into it. I was initially a bit hesitant to purchase due to some of the reviews saying that it is a poor quality. I found that it is very durable although it is the same material as some dog toys. I just don't leave it on the ground for her to chew, problem solved. Good buy.

Great for senior or special needs dogs!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Quick shipping and wonderful product. I have a rescued bull terrier that needed extensive dental work, so couldn't use the traditional hard plastic, slow feed bowls. He loves this! I also use to to have him sniff for treats as a form of canine enrichment. Since they included a discount code, I have ordered a second one for my senior bull terrier!

Okay only for non-chewers
The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because the product is too flexible and light that my dog thought it was one of his chew toys and after a week had destroyed it. The concept - the soft nubs - are great. I think it's better than the bowls that have hard posts in them. But, the silicone needs to be affixed to something weighty and sturdy to keep the dish from turning into a chew toy. And, yes, I could have just picked the dish up off the floor after each meal - but, realistically, that's not going to happen.Make this product more durable, and I'd try it again.

Great product!
GREAT product! Exactly what I needed. My Australian Shepherd puppy was gobbling food in record time and then heading to the bowls of our two other dogs. He LOVES his new food dish! Easy to fill and clean. Plus, it doesn't move around on the floor. I had originally purchased a hard plastic slow feed dog bowl from another vendor, but it was too difficult for my puppy to get the kibbles. He only got frustrated and it moved all over the floor. This is the perfect solution. Only wish I had discovered it sooner.

Not for a big dog
Way smaller than expected and I ordered a large. It's also more flimsy/rubbery than I expected. I returned it as it does not work for my big 80lb black Labrador retriever. If you have a small dog then this would work I think. I returned it.

No choice of sizes
I thought I was getting a small slow feeder for a cat, I received a large... It still works but is way to big.
