Just Relax Crosswords: Crossword Puzzles For Adults Paperback – August 22, 2015

This is a neat little collection of forty puzzles. The font and grids are large enough for aging eyes, but the book itself is comfortably compact and light weight.The clues are challenging, although some of the allusions went over my head, and a few are painfully obvious, sort of like the "stupid answers" category on Jeopardy. Still, I enjoyed the puzzles, and I knew enough of the "trivia" answers to be proud of myself.My only wish (and this applies to the entire industry) is that, for the larger print editions requiring two pages for each puzzle, the printers would place the grid on the recto (right side), and the clues on the verso (left side). Since most of us are right -handed, such a layout would make for much less in the way of forearm lifting to see the clues.

I have been doing crosswords most of my life. I was looking for medium ability so I wouldn't have to tote around a dictionary. Nothing would help me with the answers because they were so out in left field I could not even make the connection from the hint. A waste of money.

On the one puzzle I tried, one clue referred to a clue that wasn’t there. Then I found spaces for which there wasn’t a clue. In the trash it goes.

Waste of money and my time. Tossed it after 4 puzzles. Clues and answers (I am being kind) are nonsensical. Never again from this publisher.

Very nice, but more difficult than expected, even for my husband, an English major in college!

poorly written, very inane clues.

Got this for my husband. He said he is not a big fan because several of the puzzles are way too hard and/or make no sense.

Please don't waste your money! I am average at crosswords and thought that being called Relaxed Crosswords they would be just the right level for me to exercise my brain each day BUT the answers often don't make sense, the words are contracted eg Tiny Tim is represented as Tytim, also there are no number of letters next to each clue and some have answers which are made up of more than one word which is frustrating. I ended up giving up on the book and throwing it away after one and a half puzzles and needed to look up lots of answers so I was just filling in answers from the back not solving it myself.

This book of crosswords was a total waste of money. Many of the clues and answers just don't make sense, or are abbreviated so that you can only guess what they're talking about. I was looking forward to a gentle challenge for the brain (I wrongly interpreted the name Just Relax to mean that!) but was sadly disappointed. I wouldn't advise anyone else to buy it.

Initially I thought this would be a very good book, however I have decided to return it as alot of the words are american based companies etc and as I live in the UK I have often never heard of the company and this makes completing it almost impossible wothout referring to the answers in the back of the book.

Don't know if this is meant to be a joke..as a crossword fanatic, i was frustrated by this book. Words so obscure and unheard of and no indication of any break up of words in the clues. Left feeling bemused and incredulous...maybe it's me lol...
