Now that's a knife!
The knife has it going. Great hand feel. Nice and heavy too. Weighs in at 500 gms. And the edge OUT OF THE BOX is almost sharp enough to shave. I'm cutting through 1" (25 mm) branches and bushes like I'm cutting butter. Sometimes 2 and 3 at a time. Gave it 5 stars on durability after only one day because I know it will last. This one is worth twice the money. Buy it ... it won't disappoint!

Decent Enough of a Purchase.
OK Again...So now I have tried out several different brands of the kukri style machete/utility knife. This S|W has a particularly nice handle. The sheath is OK, not spectacular but it sure isn't the worst I've got off of Amazon lately, either.Getting pretty close to the best deal per dollar on here for something of this design. There are cheaper low grade import knock-offs with horrible sheaths and miserable solid square hard handles. I've bought some of those, too. And they will eventually turn into something worthwhile and useful. Just going to take some extra tender loving care.If you want/need/desire a better than average kukri design knife? This one is really good. And having that snappy hot shot name brand S&W box is cool. Nothing like walking in to work and asking everyone if they want to come out to the truck to look at my new Smith and Wesson!G.

Sturdy mid size blade
The construction it flawless. Blade is thinner than expected but still strong and light wait. The rubber grip feel good in my thick hands. Balance is off but can be fixed with effort. Over all a good blade for the money.

It works
Walking Dead type chopper. Cuts through paper and other things very nicely.

Superb!
My husband loves his Kukri! It’s sturdy and so far the durability has been pretty good. He’s only had to sharpen the blade once so far. Great tool to use or just to display!

The right tool for the job
Used a lansky blade medic to put an edge on it when received as they don't come very sharp. I think that they come dull so as not to be extremely dangerous, just kind of dangerous. It makes short work of palmettos and branches or just about anything organic and 1/2" thick in 1 swing.(hint, chop @ an angle) Bought this for actual bush whacking/ Florida yard clearing, not as a zombie hacking weapon so for what I bought it for it does well. Treat your tools well and they will treat you well, beating it against a tree or things that aren't meant to be chopped and you will break it. Using it without sharpening it will leave you disappointed, and with a broken blade, because without sharpening most machetes before use is like using a hammer to chop wood.

Good blade, hard to beat the price
I just purchased this Kukri blade a little while ago. I have yet to actually use it but will get the opportunity this week and update this review. Upon first inspection it has a god weight to it, very good size to get to those 'hard to reach places', the top of the blade is thick and rigid for added stability for actions like chopping wood etc.The black finish looks cheap and I expect it to wear off quickly. Maybe the knife will prove me wrong. Also the factory edge is not extremely sharp but that hardly matters to me since I am doing more heavy duty work with this knife.Dec 1st 2014 Update:I have used this blade camping quite often now. I am impressed with its durability. Apparently others who ordered this have had issues with defective blades. I seem to use mine to chop logs into kindling most often. I am striking the wood logs hard and then hitting the back of the blade with a rock to drive through and split the wood. It has held up well to my abuse and the edge seems to stay sharp enough since I just cut myself using it last weekend. The sheath and black coating on the blade are holding up well too. I am happy with my purchase.
