A wonder full collection of studies after Frederic Chopin. These studies will help to achieve presentation of romantic piano music and also modern music such as Maurice Ravel and Sergey Prokofiev.

This is a very fine Edition, with excellent fingerings, and excellent type, easy to read.The binding is also very good quality. The Godowsky arragements of Chopin are tasteful and imaginative. Very very difficult to play.

This volume contains the famous transcriptions of the Chopin Etudes. The transcriptions can be extremely difficult to master, but also highly rewarding. You should also obtain a nice recording, in order to fully appreciate their technical difficulties.It's good to have this book in your collection, even if you never manage to play an etude. Once and again I have a look at mine and try a few bars.The book itself is well made and legible, although it's rather thick.

I bought this from amazon.com as it's half the price as buying it from amazon.co.uk and I have to say it's amazing value.I'll probably never end up learning any although it's fun to play a bar or two from some of the transcriptions.As the other reviewer said, it's a bit thick, and I suppose being able to buy them all cheaply separately would be a better solution or as a boxed set, but this is still an enormously important addition to anyone's collection.
