The P38 was used from WWII through Vietnam for C-Rations and today for hiking, camping, day trips, keep on your key chain, glove box, inside your purse, pack, bag, etc. The P51 was a civilian adaption that came along later and has enjoyed similar success and handier use due to its larger size.

I ordered two 20 packs. One had 19 and the other had 21, (so that worked out), plus there was another floating loose.

For the food bank
The local food bank needed a bunch of can openers. People living out of their cars or on the street don't have a whole lot of room for a heavy full-size can openers. The local food bank also tries to get their canned foods with pop-tops, but they're not turning away canned food that needs an opener. These are the somewhat "larger" P-51 model but are still very compact and can fit on a keychain. Stainless steel because they're going to be in contact with food.At 1/10 the cost of a full-size opener, you can afford a bunch and still have some money left over for a few full-size openers for elderly folks with arthritis or dementia that can't handle these camping-style openers.

Subpar quality
Poor quality reproductions. Will not last. Find the genuine military issue ones.

Vintage!
These are 100% identical to the P-51 can openers formerly issued to US troops for opening canned rations tins. They are light, sturdy and functional! Very nice!
