A young girl's brilliantly written account of her terrible experiences in Auschwitz
I have a dear cousin in Poland who is an Auschwitz survivor. Only now , having read Stella's story, do I know the terrible things she went through. This book is a must for anyone wanting to learn more about the Holocaust. This is a Five Star book, but the comment "I love it" is totally inappropriate. When will the sequel, which describes the difficulties she faced after the war, be translated into English?

An essential but harrowing read.
I was given this book by a friend who bought it while visiting Auschwitz. A harrowing account of a young Polish girl’s experiences at the hands of the Nazi regime. It picks up where Anne Frank’s diary ends, Stella and her parents are sent to Plaszow labour camp in Poland from the Krakow ghetto.Included on Schindler’s list they eventually escape execution. The bulk of the book recounts her experiences before rescue and is a fascinating, at times, horrifying tale of man’s inhumanity to man.
