Innovet Pet Products Tracerz Scent Guides for Blind Pets

This is a great product. It has made my adopted blind Labrador Retriever very comfortable in and around his home. I read a negative review before I first bought them a couple years ago in which the reviewer stated they had put them all over the place and they didn't help at all. DON'T put them "all over the place." Put them at significant places such as the edge of the doorway, the top of the stairs, next to the backdoor. My dog knows his key reference points and works from those. He does very well and Tracerz helps him know where he is.

I was very disappointed with this product.The product seemed very sticky. .perhaps it was old or damaged in shipment. Most of the product would not stick when applied. It has not worked as advertised.

I don't think these work, or at least they don't work with my dog. She never seemed to notice them after I placed them in my house. I followed directions and suggestion for placement and I'm just not happy with this product. I almost wonder if these were an old pack and their scent was too old to be noticed.

I would love to say that this product made a dramatic difference in the number of times my blind miniature schnauzer walks into walls and furniture but I can't truthfully say that right now. I have had the Tracerz set up in my house for about two to three weeks. I can say that my dog walks into the walls and furniture a little less than when he first went blind, however I can't determine if this is due to the Tracerz or the fact that he is getting better at navigating on his own. However I will say that my dog in particular doesn't tend to use his nose as much as some other dogs. (He can't even guess which hand the treat is in successfully). So I'm not sure at this time if I would repurchase for my dog, but if your dog is a much more successful sniffer maybe this product would work better for you.

As I have only put these dots into place and also have had to order more since our area needs more, it is probably a bit early to make a truly informed review.We have a small minature schnauzer who has had vision problems for some years but they have recently worsened and I doubt she can see much at all inside the house - a little better outside in the daylight but not great. she uses her nose primarily for findng her way around and is quite a gentle animal so walks carefully and so bumps into things rather gently usually without mishap.I used the markers on the doors that are sometimes open and sometimes half open ( a problem ), on the chairs and the baby stroller that are sometimes in the way as well as on the pathways through the rooms that she uses. Marked the walls in the bedroom that she bumps into at night Also added to the top step of the 2 steps leading into the back garden (she won't go up or down steps usually and waits to be lifted)On the first day she clearly improved on the path to back door, by the third day she was not bumping into the half open door. she also does not seem to be bumping into the walls in the bedroom and doesn't get lost going into the bathroom during the night-she used to confuse the bathroom door with the walk in closet door.I am not saying this is perfect and it might be well suited to her personality better than more exuberant dogs, but it it is certainly showing promise to making her life easier and less confusing.I will update this as we add to it and therefore have a clearer picture .I will add to this review

Amazing product for my blind dog. It has helped him adjust to his loss of vision due to diabetes. He isn't bumping into walls because he can smell the guides. Easy to use.

These have been very helpful for our little blind dog, in fact I've just ordered for the 2nd time because they only last six months but they are well worth the cost.

This never worked for my blind dog. She ignored them and was still walking into walls & doors! Too bad because my vet was interested until I told him it did not work as was in the info. Interesting to note, my cats could not care less about the scent.
