Thai and South East Asian Cooking and Far Eastern Classics

My favourite cook book. Every recipe I’ve tried is delicious. I’ve always loved Thai food and I’m enjoying being able to recreate the authentic Thai flavours with the help of this recipe book.

This is actually the same cookbook as "Thai: The Essence of Asian Cooing." I stupidly purchased both, not realizing that but found a friend who loves cooking Southeast Asian as much as I. The 20 or so recipes I have tried from this book range from not bad to very good. I've even tried a few on my Asian in-laws with success.

Outstanding! This cookbook should be able to take me from novice to confident. It is remarkably thorough, well laid out and uses pictures effectively. I have found the explanations of different fundamental products, techniques and ingredients incredibly helpful. Since I have no previous experience cooking these dishes or working with a lot of the spices and elements I am so grateful for the step by step introductions to basics. It's just exactly what I need and wanted. I will cook my way through the whole book.. This is terrific for the aspiring enthusiast.

Love this book. It has picture for every recipe and pictures of step by step cooking. There is tons of different recipes to cove any taste and any occasion. The recipes are simple and do not require any exotic ingredients. Very well organized. At the beginning of the book have detail explanations with pictures of herbs ingredients, kitchen utensils that you might need and pots. Also, has detailed instructions with pictures of how to handle chicken, lobster, cut meat, etc. Highly recommend this book.

Easy to follow recipies and beautiful illustrations that make your mouth water. Depending on where you live, you might have to order some ingredients.

The book itself is great - only problem is that my wife found it for sale locally for about 1/3 of the price shortly after I bought it.

I love this book. My Thai friends have eaten my food I have made from this book and they say its wonderful!

The first 120 pages are a listing of the different ingredients commonly found in Asian cuisine. This book is worth purchasing for that alone.Beyond that, the recipes are all really solid and there's lots of great pictures of everything. Many recipes have pictures illustrating parts of the preparation process as well.

This is one of those lovely books that you flick through and think "i'll make that" but then you find you have more pages marked than unmarked!I have made 5 or 6 dishes from the book, and they have all turned out really well. Most are very quick to make and all in one pan, which is great when there is only 2 of you. Instructions are very clear, un-fussy and easy to follow, there is a very useful glossary at the front of the book which tells you about the ingredients- which is an interesting read on its own. There are alternatives given for difficult to get hold of ingredients and you don't need any complicated equipment or pans.I would highly recommend this book if you fancy cooking something which is fast, fresh and a little different.

Book came on time and was as described

Pricey book but an education in exotic spices and Thai cooking. The ingredients in the recipes weren't that hard to find - especially after seeing them so beautifully photographed and described in this book. I've only made a couple of the simpler recipes but look forward to getting my teeth into the more complex ones. It's one of those books that will probably keep me interested for years.I recommend this book highly.
