Pedi for paws
From 1982-1992 I was a professional dog groomer. during that time I worked at a show kennel, I worked a professional grooming shop, and then I owned my own grooming shop. I have ample experience trimming dog nails . Currently I have seven German shepherds and one sheltie. I use a rotary tool with the grinding stone like I used at the grooming shop but my dogs are not overly fond of this. I Chose to try this product and see how they like it. First I want to tell you a little about The safe to trim the dogs nails. Lay them down on their side make it a fun game scratch behind their ears tell them they're good dogs encourage them to relax. You might need a second person to help you. Very softly and gently pick up the dogs Paw, do not squeeze! Gently pull hair back so it doesn't get caught in the nail trimmers. Now the important part !!! these clippers have a safety guard on them please use that !!!The photo shows the safety guard in place and slid to the right. The only reason to slide a guard to the right and is to release a piece of nail that may be trapped. The dog has an area of their nail that has a blood. supply and nerve.if you look on the underside of the dogs nail you'll see a thick area that looks filled in. I emphasize you do not want to cut much if any into this area or you will quick the dog and it will bleed and be painful. Hence the reason for the Nail guard to keep you from cutting too deeply. having powdered "quick stop" on hand is a good precaution but prevention is the better rule. with nail guard in place gently slide the dogs toenail between the two blades it will bump against the guard. now with the firm but gentle grip squeeze the handle. The force needed will depend upon the size of the dog's nail. You Will hear a distinct popping sound as the nail clips through. The dog may trying to pull it's paw away. gently reassure the dog and they will quickly get used to this process. As to the quality of the blade this appears to be a well-made product it has a sliding lock on the left handle if you're looking at the top which allows it to open and close wider or lock closed to keep children from getting hurt. It is a spring action. Again I love the guard that's on it. The professional clippers are used years ago didn't have guards so you were constantly being vigilant and checking the depth of the nail. I actually put one of my fingernails between the blade and clipped it , it smoothly and easily sliced my nail much smoother than my personal nqil clippers lol. I did this to test sharpness. my German Shepherd's are pushing 100 pounds and their nails are thick and dense. It does require a little bit of effort to clip them. but what I really love is the trimed nail finish has no jagged edges. it does not cause brittle breaks. the nail slices cleanly through. You never want to use a clipper that breaks the nail apart. The sign of a good nail trimmer is a clean-cut and this product produces that result. As you can see my dog is Calmly laying to have her nails trimmed and so she definitely prefers this over the grinding stone. Disclaimer: I received this nail trimmer at a reduced rate for a honest and unbiased review.

They work great, I gave three stars because they fell off the table onto the floor and the metal area got nicked in a few places. Either that or my dogs' nails are doing the nicking. Due to that, I don't expect them to last very long.

Quick Easy Trim
My dog nail clippers broke about a month ago so I was extremely relieved when these arrived. Our dog really needed a trim. The instructions state, "cut nails when you hear your pets nails clicking on the floor." We were past that by about a week.Overall: These nail clippers have a similar cutting action like that of small pruning shears. The blades are stainless steel and they made a fairly smooth cut on my dog's nails. They lock when not in use so if little children find them they are not likely to cut themselves. It has a nail file in the handle so you don't lose it. (I don't use a file normally, but if I do need it I know where to find it.) It took me about 2 minutes to cut all her nails.Cost: At the time I purchased these clippers they cost $10 but they stated that it was a limited time offer. I think $10 is a very good deal for these quality clippers.Sizing : The handle is pretty comfortable for my female hands. It opens almost 4 inches so if your hands are really small that might make it difficult. You do have to exert some force to cut through each nail. The spring that opens the clippers for the next cut could be stronger. But I guess that would make it even harder to cut the nails. My dog is medium sized but I am sure you can use these on any sized dog.Recommend?: Yes. It seems like a quality nail clipper.-- I received a discount on these nail clippers with the aim to ascertain the features and drawbacks that may help you ultimately decide if it fits your needs. I understand how important honest reviews are to help us research the products we would like, so I will always give my honest opinion.

Phoebe's Mom likes these clippers
My service dog is only a medium sized dog, but she has Grizzly Bear claws and these work very well on her nails! This is the second pair of this type of clipper that I've purchased and these are sturdier and a better quality than the first pair I bought at one of big pet stores. The safety shield which helps you judge how deeply you'll be cutting into the nail is very sturdy and stays in place, yet it can easily be moved aside if you need to for any reason. I'm not only a disabled senior, but my hands are very weak from arthritis and fibro, but I don't have any problem doing all four feet at one time. Nice tool at a very reasonable price. No, Phoebe, you may not dictate your review to me. You are a wonderful, intelligent, hard-working and sweet girl, but you don't talk nice when you talk about your pedicures. Yes, I guess you could try and type your own review, but you'd have to give credit to the clippers for keeping your nails short enough that you can still type. Are you willing to do that?Grrrr rooolf @#%*! whooo !@#%*Okay, stop right now! You did not even talk about the clippers or give credit to them. Such a love bug you are, but not when it comes to pedicures!
