Sensachew Pencil Topper (Clear) - 3 Pack

After reading the reviews on this item, my wife decided to purchase this topper. She said it was easier to get onto the pencil than anticipated. However, it was impossible to move once it was on, which made it impossible to sharpen the pencil, as needed. And so, the pencil with topper ended up in the trash, unusable. Perhaps we should have cut it in half, as one of the other reviewers had recommended, to get more use out of the pencil? The open top allowed saliva to accumulate between the pencil & plastic. Yuck! Having one closed end would prevent the saliva accumulation, however, there will still be the issue of moving it, as needed, for pencil sharpening.

I purchased these for the chewers in my classroom. This product has great potential because the plastic is quite tough. However, it is so tough that it is nearly impossible to put the plastic cover on the pencil. I spent a good 5 minutes pushing with all my might to get the plastic on. Once it was on, all was great. My chewer was able to bite his pencil and the plastic didn't puncture. Then he broke his pencil, so I had to take it off to put it on a new pencil. What a nightmare! I could not get it off! I ended up having to slice the plastic longways to get it off. So now instead of a tube, it's more like a cuff on the pencil. I already know that these won't last long now because the plastic can be lifted and easily chewed into bits. I am very bummed because I have yet to find the perfect chewing solution for my sweet orally-fixated students.

These are a very tight fit. Once these are on they are never coming off. I put one on a shorter pencil and only have about one sharpening left, before the topper stops the pencil from entering the sharpener. Also do not put them on round pencils. I tried it. Now it is stuck. Can't push it on or pull it off.If you are able to get it on a pencil it does the job! I have one pencil it's on correctly and that pencil doesn't have chew marks in it!

i bought this for my son to use at school, as he chews almost any writing utensil beyond recognition. i was able to get this to fit flush with the end of the eraser, but you must use the basic wooden pencil and not one with any kind of decoration on it. i tried a decorated one and could tell very quickly that it wasn't going to work, the decorative sheath was sliding between the pencil and the product... making it impossible to fit properly. they have been working very well and i ordered a second pack so that he would have extras at school. removing the product from an unusable pencil is difficult, (it should be, so your kid can't get it off.) but it's not impossible. i would recommend this for anyone with a child with moderate chewing habits.

It serves it's purpose, but my child didn't care for it.

These work as intended, but they do not go all the way down the pencil. I cut them in half, and used a half on each pencil. This helped so that they were not so long, and then I had twice as many.

It did not slip on the pencil easily like the package claims. We couldn't slide it all the way on and now it's stuck, so we can't take it off either. A waste of money!

Way to soft. These things last a day. He is only six too I am sure an older child could destroy these in under an hour.
