My daughter is 9 and does not have her ears pierced yet. She loves the idea of wearing earrings, though, but clip-ons sometimes hurt. I was excited to give these coil earrings a try.Her ears are pretty tiny, and she had trouble putting them on by herself, but I was able to get them on her ears without too much effort. I purchased these for my 1 year old even though the recommended age is 5. I do not have pierced ears and do not plan to pierce my daughters either. The earrings are for pictures and special events until she old or mature enough. I put them on her to try out and they were so cute. It was easy enough for me to put them on her, with a small learning curve and of course she pulled them right off. There is a pad behind the earrings on the spring for added comfort.
