I don’t know why the lids become brittle over time and require replacing. I like the containers because I prefer to microwave food in glass rather than plastic. I also like that the containers and lids hold enough for a generous single serving and can go directly from the freezer to the microwave. Just remember to label the contents and remember to remove the lid before heating.
