Libbey All-Purpose Wine Party Glasses, Set of 12

We wanted wine glasses that weren’t too thin and flimsy. These glasses are awesome and just the right weight and thickness. Perfect size for red wine. Easy to clean and more durable than others we have tried.

I needed a large set of party glasses quicky. This was a great price, Libbey is a reliable company- and they did not disappoint. I would not withold a star for this but it is worth the mention; wine affictionados and tastemakers of glassware, prefer the thinnest and often wider bowl more narrow mouthed glasses with no lip whatsoever. BUT- when you have a party and lots of new people over, that is actually the thing you DON'T necessariliy want at all. I wanted glasses that had a good real shape- for people who swirl, sniff, watch the 'legs' on a wine. But NOT so thin and delicate as to break (no injuries thank you) or cost a mint and chip (or explode like the thin ones) and NOT cost an arm and a leg, and to have mouths wide enough to rinse and clean and re-use quickly. If you want paper thin, high end wine glasses, get some for yourself and few guests. If you want to survive a number of parties with glasses that are not 'cheap looking' but are durable enough, and a nice balance to accommodate red or white- not too small and narrow, not to round and globe-y, these are good quality, don't break but aren't clumsy and 'industrial' and don't cost much for a nice large set, so you can serve a large party or don't have to wash glasses mid-event.

Given the absurdly reasonable price of about $6 per glass, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of these glasses. They have a good weight and thickness and provide a generous drink of red wine. I endorse this product wholeheartedly!

These are nice wine goblets. They are tall, have the over-sized bowl that has been popular for the last several years, and look pretty classy. They bring a touch of class to your drinking and for anyone outside the very rich they will look fancy to your friends. The construction isn't exceptional, but seems decent. I haven't noticed any real flaws in the glass. Having them come as a set of 6 is a nice touch. Most wine glasses I've owned/ordered over the years have come as sets of 4 and at a similar cost. When you consider that breaking one is almost inevitable, having 6 instead of 4 is a good thing. The only reason I docked a star from this review is because the stem of the wineglass seems fairly thin for the size of the bowl. It gives the wine glass a nice look, but the trade off is that it feels a bit fragile and top heavy. Avoid putting these on an even slightly slanted surface (such as in the sink), as they are almost certain to tip over (and then break). For this price, reasonable craftsmanship, and a set of 6, there's really no reason not to buy them.

These wine glasses were exactly what I was looking for! I wanted something that looked elegant and was durable, but not look industrial grade. These are perfect!

I gifted these to my brother-in-law for Christmas. We used these for our holiday meal and I'm sure they will get plenty of use throughout the year. These are good looking and seem to be much more durable than some of the more expensive brand name glasses. Though they are called "white wine" glasses and they do have the straighter sides as opposed to the rounded sides that are designed for red wine, these are large enough and wide enough that they can be used for either type of wine. They are very nice for every day use. My brother in law plans to hand wash and dry them, but they should be fine in the top rack of a dishwasher. I would buy these again because they are a very good value and the price is such that if one breaks, it won't break the bank to replace it. The six glass set is nice and appropriate for our family, but I wish that it was available in pairs to allow for replacement or for larger groups.

There were 2 or 3 that has wobbly bases. Otherwise, they are nice. I don't trust a wobbly glass very far.

I just received my PRIME order of two sets of 6 Libby Glasses. Came on time and I am drinking from one as I write this review. One glass came with a somewhat noticeable defect but as they are everyday glasses it is so not worth sending it back. I read many reviews before purchasing these glasses and I am amazed how many of you thought they were too big. What were you expecting a shot glass size? these are by no means too big. The 18oz size is too the rim and no one pours that much anyway. These are perfectly sized everyday glasses...not a work of art but properly priced. My wife and I drink and serve a lot of wine to our friends and we will have no worries at all using these glasses. So please get over yourselves all you wine snobs. One reviewer said it best...these glasses will hold the wine until you finish drinking the wine. If you are looking to impress your guests with fine crystal then look elsewhere but if you need something that will do the job then these are the right glasses. One note to amazon or Libby...you may consider putting the height of the glass on the ad so many who thought they were too big would have a better feel for it before ordering. Buy 'em I will re-review in a month or so once these glasses have been put to the test

For the price, it seems like a very good value wineglass. The glass is thicker than most wineglasses I'm used to, which makes it sturdy and likely last a long time. It was also recommended as an all around glass, that goes well with any wine, in an article I read, and it does seem to hold true. I didn't pay attention to the capacity when I ordered it, and was surprised how big the glasses are, which may be an issue if you want smaller and more standard sized glasses, but it works great for me.
