K2 Sports Inline Skate Brake Stopper (Black)

This was an exact match to the previous brake and installed very easily. The material this is made of feels exactly the same as the previous brake. As for the complaints that the material is not as good as the original, I don’t see any difference. Time will tell. If it turns out that the quality is lower, I will update my review accordingly.

It hurts me to say this because I love K2, but this has to have been a conscious decision by K2 to make a cheaper break. I have been buying K2 skates for the last 10-15 years. They make the best skate hands down. The BOA system is really awesome. I keep expecting it will break, but it has not. It is well made like the rest of their products. The one thing that is really making me mad and question my love affair with K2 is their obviously cheaper and less durable breaks. I used to replace a break once a year, maybe twice... and I skate every day! These crumby brakes they make now will last a week. Come on K2. You are only screwing your best customers. Beginners and people who skate a few times a year won't notice but your longtime fans like me are noticing. I am looking for break alternatives. If I can't find one, I will consider looking for a new skate. $10-$15 for a cheap brake does not work for me at all. My route through NYC has a lot of hills and I am not going to use my expensive wheels to slow nor will I use an expensive break. Shame on K2.

I ordered two brakes, two weeks apart. The first to arrive was made to fit a K2 but was a cheap knockoff that's mostly a softer rubber. The second one was a genuine K2 brake with a much sturdier/harder material which will last much longer.Seller, get honest about the product. If you're advertising a K2 brake that's what customers should receive. Sell the knockoff brand separately and list it as a brake manufactured by a different company but made to fit K2. And price them accordingly.I'd return the first one but my son already used it.

This break is $7.50 on the inline warehouse site, shame on you Amazon. It's $14.95 on the K2 site. And it's the same crapy break pad.I agree with all of the bad reviews ... I should have read them before I made the purchase but why would I think the break would be any different? Oh it's different alright. It's basically black chalk. 1 long steep hill that you can't fly down because of pedestrians or uneven concrete, and it needs replacing. I've gone at least a year, more like a year and a half without having to replace previous breaks. I'm on my 3rd since spring. What a waste of money. Not to mention a hazard.

These brakes use to last through months of skating. My most recent brake that I bought has worn down after two skating outings. My first skates years ago were K-2s; so after skating in Solomons for years I switched back to K-2s. This will be my last purchase of any K-2 products outside of these brakes which unfortunately I will have to buy with some frequency. This break is not only cheap and costly it is DANGEROUS if you plan to skate in a hilly area. By the way, I love Amazon; but you can buy these brakes a lot cheaper at other internet sites.

There must have been some quality control issues a while back that have been fixed, based on a lot of the reviews here. This seems to be the exact same brake as what came with my skates. Works great. I think these are more durable than the Rollerblade brand brakes you use for Rollerblade skates.

Amazon had none of these brakes for a while so I went without running my dog for months. Finally saw them by this seller and got one immediately. Going to buy two more so I don't find myself without a brake for so long again. This freaking brake is $20 from a K2 dealer.

I think whatever issue was affecting these awhile ago has been resolved. I skate every day to work in the city, over obstacles, through traffic, up and down minor hills, so I abuse my brakes. I've had no issues with the new one, and it was very easy to install.It took a little bit to get used to the new brake but I think that's because my other one was worn to a nub and I was used to that one for so long.
