I have tried many shampoos in my life that have irritated my scalp. But I saw this one recommended on tiktok and I loved it from my very first use. It's pretty pricey for me but it's worth every penny. It keeps my hair moisturized, soft and smelling sweet. It hydrates my dried out strands and gives my hair a nice shine when it dries. I absolutely love this product and will continue to purchase it.

Giovanni's Avocado & Olive Oil Shampoo is a miracle hair care product beyond compare! I have thick hair, but the texture of it is fine & wavy. It is also very layered & has multiple blond color processes done on it (straight bleach, highlights, lowlights, & tints). I also use a lot of heat. A lot of shampoos--including those for color-treated or over-processed hair--will still leave my hair looking dry, frazzled, & with ends sticking out everywhere. Other conditioning shampoos will weigh my hair down & make it look & feel coated, greasy, & dirty. Ugh. But, Giovanni's Avocado & Olive Oil Shampoo makes my hair smooth (yet full & voluminous), shiny, healthy-looking, vibrant, & clean! While I was waiting for my purchase to arrive (which came within a few days!), I used a different shampoo that was supposedly ultra conditioning & for dry, color-treated hair, but it made my hair look like frizzy straw. It was awful. I thought my hair was ruined beyond repair. But the minute I washed it with the Giovanni's Avocado & Olive Oil Shampoo, it was smooth, soft, shiny, & voluminous once again! I was so ecstatic. This product is absolutely miraculous. That's really the only accurate way to describe it. And it seems to work well on all different hair types as well, because my daughter has very thick, healthy, straight, (dyed) black hair with crimson bangs. Completely different hair from mine & she loves this product as well. I also like that this shampoo is essentially scent-free as opposed to the chemical smell or heavily-perfumed scents of most other hair-care products I've tried. In fact, I love everything about this shampoo. You can actually find this shampoo @ Target, but it only comes in a small squeeze tube, which I find inconvenient to use in the shower. I also find it rather difficult to get the shampoo out once you're about 3/4 of the way through the tube. But this economy size available through Amazon with the salon pump makes a great product even better & easier to use. Thanks Amazon!

This is a phenomenal product provided you have HIGH porosity hair AND you use a clarifying shampoo at least every 4 washes. I bought this because of rave reviews by a YouTube cosmetology teacher who broke down the different hair types. I am a 3b/3c going from relaxed + (formaldehyde version, currently USA banned) keratin blowout to natural. The transition period is nasty!! I have to admit that this shampoo (combined with an amazing protein conditioner) has reduced the hair breakage of my natural hair. After the 3rd wash it doesn't suds up as much so you will need a clarifying shampoo to get excess oil buildup off, but for African american hair, this definitely retains moisture. Its also with noting that this shampoo (plus a protein conditioner) has reduced the amount of heat i need for flat ironing. I use to have tobuse 400 degrees, but today I only needed 295 for bone flat hair. So is it the shampoo or the conditioner? IDK. You decide.

I have been a repeat customer of this shampoo for a few years now. i like the price. I like the size, my gosh it will last a good long time. I have tried so many different shampoos over the years I couldn't count. So many different brands that I just couldn't use past a few shampoos. A few years ago, I tried this and it has never disappointed me. Now, after awhile, I took a break and used my clarifying shampoo because hair does get a buildup of product regardless of what you use. But after that, I was ready to restart with my favorite brand right here. It gives a light moisture that I love. Not heavy, weighing the hair down. I have thinner hair. I have a lot of hair, but it is thin and mid length. IF I use a heavier moisture shampoo, I will look like a mop. Now, during the summer, my scalp does NOT need to much moisture so I use this shampoo only on the second portion of my hair ( past my neck on down to the ends) this gives it lots of body, moisture and bounce. If I use this during the summer on my scalp, I just tend to get oiler faster and have to wash it more. To avoid washing more, I use a clarifying shampoo on my scalp and dilute it with water before applying. This gives me that longer lasting fresh hair. I will then use this on the bottom part of my hair during the same wash. It works great this way. In the winter, my hair gets drier, so I can use this on my entire head of hair once or twice per week. Year after year my hair still looks good. I also do not get frizz, or dryness from this. I live in Florida, you would think I would, but I dont. Its just light hydration. My entire family use this. A bottle in each bathroom. Yes we do. One more thing, male or female. You MUST also sleep on a Mulberry silk pillowcase every single night. Your hair will thank you, you skin will thank you. Its the final touch for non drying, non frizzing hair, and skin that will look softer, not dryer.
