Excellent book for the reference shelf.
It was very interesting and informative. It cleared up many things that were a bit cloudy to me concerning teapot spout dripping.

A Well Written Book
This book is well written and clear to understand. No detail is left out by this potter of the how, what, when, and why of the craft. It is a great basic book for people that are just getting into ceramics, or for those that want to get back to basics. I highly recommend it, especially for beginners.

Daniel Rhodes; ceramic artist, teacher & accomplished writer
Daniel Rhodes has a wonderful ability to assemble words economically, clearly and instructively. Describing ceramic techniques is not an easy task. Rhodes does it beautifully. In fact, I learned as much about writing by reading this book as pottery-making. The techniques are illuminating and helpful to students at all levels. This is a classic!

another great book
If your interested in thinking about the formal qualities of pottery, how they developed and why certain forms are aesthetically pleasing, Rhodes does a great job at discussing and illustrating it here.

beau !
