HTP SSU45 SuperStor Ultra Stainless Steel Water Storage Tank 45 Gallons

This seems to be very well-made and works as advertised. Looses less than 0.5 deg/hour of heat, and provides virtually endless hot water with my 105K BTU boiler. 5 people (3 teenagers) and 2 showers and I don't have to think about hot water. I keep the tank set at 150 deg with a 120 deg mixing valve at the tank.

Inner coil failed 2 1/2 years in. This company NOR HTP would honor the “lifetime” warranty, playing one against another. HTP informed me that this company is NOT a an authorized dealer for this product and that they do not honor warranties on purchases made through either Amazon OR EBay. Be forewarned here. DO NOT BUY THIS HERE.

Bought one local as my 20 year old Superstor 30 started leaking. Port locations are similar to the old unit but I had to totally replumb because the original one was not installed with shutoffs.Works very well with a downsized Reillo producing 110K and only a 3/4" boiler feed. It's a 50% increase in hot water capacity but only about a 20% hit on increased energy usage with an additional 30% time to heat from cold and that's on cold well water. The only thing I caution is that the threads on the stainless ports are very shallow and extra care needs to be taken with respect to taping the threads. They need to be either over-wrapped or doped and wrapped which is rather messy.

Nice design and looking forward to years of problem free use. Great replacement for an existing 45 gallon tank that was discontinued from another manufacture straightforward installation. Free delivery and hand-truck delivery to inside my garage, cant ask or better service!!!

This product was exactly as advertised. Arrived on time, actually faster than expected. No trouble, installed now for over a month.

This is a warning not to buy HTP products.  We purchased 2 HTP Phoenix on demand water heaters for our business.   We paid over $15,000 for them.   At 2 years in we had to replace the blower on one of the units.   Now at 5 years one of the units has a water leak from the tank into the combustion chamber.  They are telling me it's a throw away and I will have to buy another water heater.    So for $7500.00 it lasted all of 5 years and it's now a paperweight.  What a pile of trash.   The other one I'm sure is working on borrowed time.     The company position is they will not replace it or even give us a deep discount on a new one.   It's not how they do business they say.   So taking care of customers is not how they do business.  I have another brand of water heater at my other store going on 20 years.     Buyer  beware.

An alert to all contractors and installers. Make sure you have the installed customer's name and address printed on the product invoice by the supplier along with the serial number of the equipment.Had a unit start leaking at just over 5 years and warranty was denied even though customer sent in warranty registration at time of install and contractor had serial number on his receipt.This is not a reputable company warranty or quality wise .
