Classic Malmborg. Dark and disturbing.
So this is my third book by William Malmborg, the other two I have read being “Jimmy,” and “Daddy’s little girl.” And having read those two, “The girl who played with the Quija board,” turned out to have everything I would expect from Malmborg at this point. Which is a good thing. The story was very dark and twisted and showed you how cruel and evil people can be. Which is something that I really like about Malmborg’s writings and I feel is a constant theme to his books. I liked the characters, they felt real and like how actual teenagers would act and the dialogue also felt realistic and was easy to follow. Same goes for his writing. And that’s perhaps one of the biggest criticisms I’ve seen of Malmborg. Sure, fair enough, Malmborg is no Ernest Hemingway or Scott Fitzgerald when it comes to his writing or writing style, probably won’t be winning any literary awards based on objective writing technique or anything like that anytime soon. That being said, that’s not what Malmborg is going for, and the same can be said for many authors of this same genre. Personally, though I can admit that Malmborg may not be the best writer from a technical sense, but I still enjoy his writing style nonetheless. It feels very real and raw, much like his stories, and it’s easy to follow. And given the plot and the content matter, does it really need to be overly literary? Just my opinion though. People generally seem to either love or hate Malmborg’s writing, and I happen to fall in the former. If I had one criticism, it would be that I would’ve liked to have know what ended up happening with Joey and Penny, as well as Martin, given what happened at the end. But I guess it’s all up for interpretation, and maybe that was intentional. Looking forward to reading more from Mr. Malmborg in the future!

honestly not bad
Expected almost nothing and wound up with a good story. More of a horror movie but entertaining none the less.

Weird but Good
This book was rather bizarre, in many sexual ways that aren’t really rated R if you get my drift, but all in all it was good! I was shocked by the twists and liked the ending. Some of the parts of the book of a more sexual nature were very uncomfortable and others just frankly gross. Not sure what to think about the abundance of that, but the book was great beyond that. This just really pushes the envelope on some things.

Great job William Malmborg! 4.75 ✳️ from Karrie's Kritiques!
This was read in record speed! Fast-paced and riveting, with a full cast of characters I found interesting enough to envision in my mind's eye! I can only find one thing that I found a bit off-putting about this tale, and that would be the overabundance of excessive distasteful language and/or descriptions of sexual situations. I have no problem with sex in stories, albeit I am not a fan of any stories overwrought with sex - some can cross the line entirely into useless vulgarity. And unfortunately, this novel did so to what I would consider it's entitlement. It would have been much better with much less. Otherwise, the story was fun and fast and topsy-turvy in most generally good ways! There was a bit of confusion in grammar-related areas a time or two, but I still enjoyed it for the most part!

Oh how sweet is revenge?
Read this book to find out!Or its it karma?Or maybe justice?Or karma?Could be a bit of everything all mixed together.Whatever it is, it is the perfect blend to create a story that you won't want to put down until the very end.Although you know whodunit before then, there's still a lot of action to get through. But BEWARE: There is a ton of very graphic sexually explicit content within these pages including sex with teenage girls and demons and adults that may not be suitable for some young readers or some religions.

Good book!
Before reading this book I assumed it was about an Ouija board/possession. It took a strange turn. Although I was engulfed in the characters and writing of this book, I was deeply disturbed as new surprises around every corner. This was not what I was expecting to read, but was very satisfied with the ending and the way the author gets you so caught up in wanting to know what was going to happen next. Be prepared to be disturbed, confused, and frustrated as you see this story unfold. Good ending as well!

Rubbish
Unbelievable drivel. None of the characters has any depth. Each and every one has a sex life that is unrealistic in the extreme lurching from violent abuse of a virgin one day to consensual sex the next. No consideration is given to the actual psychology of sexuality.Painfully bad writing throughout.

More of a teen book
I started this book because Amazon advertised it on a certain social media site. I downloaded it and I delved into the pages of Ouija Spookiness, only to find myself not interested In what’s going on. I think I gave it a good enough start, but nothing spooky jumped out at me. I ended up putting it away and try another book instead.I think this is more of a teeny read and not for us hardcore fanatics who like the bejesus scared out of us.

An Amazon Recommendation?
Sadly I endured this book to the bitter end to see what happened but I wish I hadn’t.I thought the potentially interesting plot was ruined by salacious and sometimes ridiculous content.More restraint and more intrigue could have made it a more compelling read for me?

Not the best
Not the best book I have ever read...characters were 2 dimensional and the crazy aunt angle reminded me of a c movie plot, The ending was rushed and 2 of the main characters just disappeared without explanation. The author seems to have used every opportunity to invoke anal sex into the plot in unrealistic ways. All in all disappointing.
