Professional grade? Don't think so
Broke! Handle snapped in half after a couple of days of normal use. yea, we had a big snowstorm here in DC - but this shovel could hardly handle any weight beyond. Company replaced quickly, so far the shovel has held up well

Almost perfect...
This is a potentially great shovel that broke after about 3 hours of shoveling. There are 2 small screws that hold the shovel head to the fiberglass handle. The handle split between these screws, making a 4 inch or so seam. The shovel head then wobbled about 45 degrees from side to side, making it useless. Sorry, I wish I had taken a picture of it before I returned it.If you're not going to pick up really heavy loads of snow, I'm sure this will last forever - they use some well engineered parts. But they have to fix that one design flaw and add a reinforcing collar.Oh, and this is my problem: I'm 6'4" and the ergonomics were not perfect for me. Close, but a bit of a pain by hour two. I'd still buy the shovel again if they fix the weak point.

Pretty cool invention that I didn't think I would benefit ...
I used to live in Arizona and now live in Chicago. My dad gifted this shovel to me for Christmas since I just moved to a walkup and am required to shovel my sidewalk and back yard. I did the typical routine of going to Walgreens and buying an inexpensive snow shovel since I thought that would be sufficient (clearly don't know what I am doing). The cheap shovel broke on the second use.I've now had to use my new Bosse Snow shovel twice and have been very impressed in both the quality construction (not even close to showing signs of breaking...). I was also skeptical about the ergonomic handle...but it really does make shoveling the snow easier. I have found that turning the dial to the right helps me throw the snow to the right with ease. Pretty cool invention that I didn't think I would benefit from. The shovel head is also great....the metal edge cuts through ice and packed snow with ease...Overall....I still am not the biggest fan of shoveling snow (thank you 25+ years of AZ winters) but the Bosse snow shovel really makes it easier and not completely terrible.

Grossly Overpriced; The Handle Is Sure Nice on the Wrist, But You Still Need to Bend Over
I love the handle, but the rest of the shovel disappoints me greatly. The cons: The scoop is flimsy; the shovel is just as short as any other one, so you're still stooping; the price is outrageous for what you get, as besides the middle special handle, nothing else is special or particularly designed well; also, the -nice- middle handle is positioned a bit low.The pro: The middle adjustable handle. It is very ergonomic for your wrist.I am 5ft 10in, so I was expecting this to work. But, I think I can make my own shovel, built around the adjustable handle. But $70 is too much for a shovel like this, even the nice handle alone is not worth $70.

I have at least one herniated disk is my lower back so I have to be very careful when shoveling snow. The Bosse shovel took a little getting used to at first but once I mastered it, shoveling the snow, even wet snow, was much less of a challenge.Update: February 24, 2017I bought and started using this shovel late 2016. Disappointed that the metal strip on the edge of the shovel is not rustproof. I keep it on my back porch outside my kitchen door. I have a detached garage, which makes it impractical to keep the shovel there. I would expect a shovel that costs almost $100 to use stainless steel, or at the very least, have a metal strip that could be removed and replaced as needed. Instead the strip is riveted on, making it impossible to replace. Initially I gave this product 5 stars. I've reduced it to 3.

Shovel broke after a few uses and is too heavey
Shovel broke after a few uses. The metal phalange at the front edge of the shovel, split from the plastic, rendering shovel almost uselesss. In addition, this shovel is a couple of pounds heavier than average shovel, which wears on you following a heavy snow.

Because we had a major snow storm in Central Oregon all the good snow shovels were gone
I had just broken my snow shovel in the morning when I hit some ice. Because we had a major snow storm in Central Oregon all the good snow shovels were gone. My son-in-law arrived to help me shovel snow off our roof later on that day and had one of your snow shovels that had just arrived from an Amazon purchase. I was so impressed that I had my wife order me one immediately. It arrived a few days later and I have shown it to a few of my friends who have in turn ordered one. Awesome design and it saves my already sore back from shoveling for several weeks with one not so thoughtfully designed. Thanks to your ingenuity I have one that I look forward to using. Thanks,Ken Roberts

but not happy with the thick handle breaking within first 15 minutes ...
On very first snow clearning job, the handle snapped off at the blade. Amazon was quick to arrange a refund, but not happy with the thick handle breaking within first 15 minutes of use.
