Old World ChristmasIndigo Bunting Glass Blown Ornament for Christmas Tree

Soon after my grandfather died I saw my first indigo bunting. I was staring out of a window in our sunroom and there in the azalea bush was the most beautiful little bird I’ve ever seen in my life. I learned after googling it that it was an indigo bunting. I saw another one a few weeks later on a bike ride. I haven’t seen one since. Perhaps I was just wanting comfort at the time but I felt like there was some connection with the bird sightings and my grandfather. So now 4 years later I noticed this ornament pop up in Amazon when I opened it. I love this brand of ornaments and wanted to order it so it could be on our Christmas tree this year.

I am 50 years old, and last Christmas was the FIRST year I have ever had a Christmas tree in my adult life. A second "first" is that I am engaged and will soon be married for the first time. All of a sudden, doing family-oriented "nesting" things sounds enticing to me and I am loving making a beautiful, festive, Christmas tree.I love this sweet little bird ornament. It is such a beautiful color blue, and these vintage-style German ornaments have always attracted me. They are classy, not garish like so many Christmas-themed decorations can be.I am slowly collecting these German glass-blown ornaments, and hope to soon have my tree artfully decorated entirely with mushroom and bird ornaments.It also is a great choice for a Christmas gift!

Purchased for our office Christmas party, this year we’re doing an “Ornament Exchange”. I think the lucky co-worker who receives this pretty little Blue Bunting is going to cherish it. I love “Old World” glass ornaments, they remind me of my Grandmother’s Christmas tree when I was a child.

This is a beautiful ornament. The colors are rich, vivid shades of blue, with a high gloss finish. It is also very detailed with glitter accents. My mother loved bird ornaments, so this ornament reminded me of her, with its vintage handblown glass look. With its brilliant blues, this bird would stand out, especially on a silver or white Christmas tree. However, mine arrived with the clip loose and almost detached. The spot of hot glue that held the clip to the bird came loose during shipping. I can't hang this bird on the tree because it's not firmly attached to the bird's body. This is the first Old World ornament I've purchased from Amazon that is not the usual quality of this company as far as construction goes.HOWEVER--KUDOS to Amazon! They are sending me a replacement right away, which will make my son very happy. He had a wild baby bird he helped raised to adulthood, so like my mother, he likes bird ornaments. Old World makes a variety of bird ornaments that I'm planning to purchase in the future. I am very impressed with Amazon's service. They ship super fast. Returns are very, very easy. I highly recommend you do all your shopping here. My experiences here have been extremely positive.

The color is very nice. It's a nice quality. It's a little shiny but not full of shiny stuff that falls all over the place and by the end of the Christmas season half of it is gone, as is the case with some cheaper decorations. First I bought one, but since it looks so lovely on the Christmas tree, I bought three more.

Simply gorgeous. This will be a Perfect Christmas gift for a bird lover.

This summer, for the first time ever and in the middle of the COVID lockdown, we had an indigo bunting visit our birdfeeder daily for almost a month. It was beautiful!! This ornament, also beautiful, is a fitting reminder of that bird and the time our family spent together watching him.
