Sierra Club Weekly Engagement calendar
While this year's engagement calendar is still filled with [mostly] beautiful scenes from nature, some of the photographs seem too poised, too "artsy", which is not what I'm looking for. I can do without the pictures depicting a single agave leaf; winter sunrise, marred by the foreground image, which is very dark and especially those photographs of bellowing elephant seals, (not a very attractive species to begin with, how about some otters or regular seals?), nor bellowing bull elk, (maybe a more serene grazing scene?). I'm more interested in beautiful, scenic, inspiring scenes from nature. I'd even welcome some beautiful repeats from previous years. Also, is it too much to ask to keep the photos seasonal? I like to see snowy scenes in winter, yes to winter in Yosemite, no to agave leaves in Baja, shown on a January page.As to the functionality of the product, the pages are well laid out, with the photograph for that week on the left side page and the days of that week on the right side page. There's plenty of room for writing appointments, etc., in each day. There's a small monthly calendar in the top left hand of the page, with the month on the top right hand side of the same page. Included are the dates for the winter & summer solstices, the monthly phases of the moon, most major holidays, (federal & religious, plus a few popular others, like Mother's & Father's Day). All in all I'm very satisfied with this weekly engagement calendar and plan on buying it again next year.

I love it!
I have been using the Sierra Club engagement calendar for several years, now. A new edition is released every year in the Fall. The calendar is compact, measuring about half that of a letter sized page. The calendar is printed on high quality gloss paper. One page is dedicated for an entire week. This arrangement is ideal for a personal use engagement calendar, allowing just enough space to record 3-4 upcoming events for each day. This way, one can capture the week's upcoming events, at a glance.A beautiful, up-lifting, color photograph, captured from nature, fills every even numbered page, facing the odd numbered pages dedicated to the calendar. It is a win-win proposition purchasing the calendar, especially if you agree with the mission of the Sierra Club. For a modest sum of money, you get a high quality personal engagement calendar, which you will enjoy every day throughout the year, and at the same time you get to support the Sierra Club. I love it!

My favorite engagement calendar
Although everything seems to be electronic these days, I still prefer a paper engagement calendar for my personal use. I record all sorts of things in it - appointments, vacation information, exercise, etc. I purchase the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar every year. The pages are not as thick as they once were, but I still find them to be of decent quality. The spiral binding makes it easy to flip through the pages. There is one week per page. There is ample writing space for each day. Best of all, the photos of the animals and scenery are absolutely amazing. I especially like it when I discover a picture or two (or three, as is the case this year) taken in my own state. It makes me appreciate my surroundings that much more.

Good calendar for brief daily notes
I've bought one of these calendars for my husband every year for probably 6 or more years. He uses them to record his daily exercise accomplishments. Each week at a view page gives him just enough space to jot down distance he ran, bike distance, time, etc for each day. It folds open flat or can be completely flipped over flat to show a single page width. Photos are always beautiful and we feel it supports a good cause. I gave it 4 star rather than 5 only because I think they have thinned down the cover stock over the years.

Photos are always fun to look at and represent some of the world's best nature photographers
I've been using these engagement calendars for probably 30 years or more and they are always beautiful. I'm a nature photographer and so I've gotten a lot of good photo ideas and travel-destination ideas from these calendars. The photos are generally superb.I will say that I think the paper quality and reproduction might have slipped a tiny bit in recent years, but not in any really substantial way--and the photo selection is still great. I use these datebooks are a kind of journal and every day jot down a few things about what I did that day; if I didn't I'd never remember a think that I did!

Beautiful calendar, could be a tad more useful
I almost always get this for my desk calendar -- the photos are great, and the amount of space for me to write in meetings and reminders for each day is decent. However, one thing I really miss that some other calendars have is a display of the next month. The page shows the current month but if you want to look ahead to the next month, you have to page through until you hit the first week of the next month. It would be nice to be able to also see the upcoming month's dates on the same page.

I really appreciate nature and beautiful scenery and have been purchasing the Sierra Club calendar ...
I really appreciate nature and beautiful scenery and have been purchasing the Sierra Club calendarfor years. The photos are lovely. I especially enjoy seeing photos of places we have visited as itbrings back wonderful memories. My husband and I are both Senior Citizens and our travel daysare probably over, but we can live vicariously via the photos I use this calendar to make notes ofapproaching events or appointments. So, the "S" is for Sierra Club and also for "Schedule" for theweek/month/year.

One Week Per Page, Lovely Photos of Nature
These photos are always wonderful to see, week in and week out, as you go through your days. You get a weekly view at a glance (one week per page), enough room to write daily activities, lovely photos, good quality paper, and a donation to a good cause (nature). What's not to like?! I've used the Sierra Calendar for 20 years now, and it's a good calendar.

Sensible calendar with nice nature photos
Lays flat on desk when opened, because it is spiral bound. You can see the whole week, at a glance. Page starts with Monday and ends with Sunday. Every week there is a new picture to look at.
