Black Barrel Bushing Wrench for 1911 Government and Officer Models

Great barrel bushing wrench for M1911/M1911-A1 pistols. It depresses the the recoil spring plug and rotates the barrel bushing at the same time allowing for ease of disassembly. Make sure you do not have your face over the front of the pistol while doing this, as the spring plug will shoot off the recoil spring when the bushing is unlocked. I suggest placing your one over the front of the pistol while rotating the bushing out of the way with the other to avoid losing the spring plug. Mine flew across the room and it took me 10 minutes to find it. It is not as easy to use for reassembly because you are fighting the spring pressure. I had to reinstall the spring plug and bushing the old fashioned way (with both hands and not using the wrench).

Worked nicely as intended. I was hoping to find a sturdy plastic wrench because I didn't want the wrench to scratch my firearm. This wrench is coated nicely so it didn't scratch at all. Great wrench at a good price.

Works as advertised. However, my Mod. 1911 has a very tight barrel bushing. What this product needs is a small dimple on one side to depress the recoil spring plug just enough to allow the wrench to turn the bushing partway onto the top of the plug.. As it stands now, it is awkward to have to hold the pistol while depressing the plug with a finger and trying to turn the wrench, especially on a tight bushing. Once the bushing is atop the plug the wrench could be reversed to continue removal of the bushing.

First , i will start by saying, this is the second tool i got for my 1911. The first was that red and grey one that is sold here in Amazon that is made of plastic. DO NOT BUY THAT ONE!!! This tool is made much better. I never have had to try so hard to remove my bushing with this version. Ii gets the job done fast. With the other, the tool got eaten up bad since my spring cap is the open version and is pretty sharp on the edge,ehuch wore the tool up right away. This version has scratches but is still doing the job! If i wear this down bad enough, ill buy it again!

This tool makes disassembly/reassembly a breeze. Compresses the recoil spring plug and allows you to rotate the barrel bushing in one easy motion.There are several different versions and styles of these wrench’s available. I’ve used the plastic ones, but each time you use it, a little more of the plastic wears down, so at some point, it’s going to be worn down enough that it wont work anymore. That makes this aluminum wrench worth the $10 alone.
