Great for coloring .my daughter loves it.

This is my first adult coloring book and I love it. I just recently received a set of fabulous gel pens, and I intended to use them in my elementary classroom. Then, I decided to try them for myself and purchased this cute, dog coloring book. The pages are single-sided, so it is easy to color without bleeding through the paper. It is fun for my kids and I to locate and identify our favorite dog breeds. I couldn't resist the dog on the front, but I purchased it when I saw the Shih Tzu on the back. The Chihuahua page is also a fun one to color. This book is priced very reasonable, and it is constructed very nicely. It is not a flimsy book. The patterns are nice to color, and provide hours and hours of therapeutic coloring for adults and kids alike. I highly recommend this book. I am already planning to buy Amazing Kittens, Amazing Dogs 2. Amazing Sea Life looks very nice as well. This would also make a nice gift for someone. This is such a fun, stress reliever - especially to dog-lovers. I highly recommend it.

If you are dog lover who enjoys adult coloring books, Amazing Dogs Adult Coloring Book is perfect for you! I have always loved doing arts and crafts including coloring. Now when my daughter works on her school work, my son and I sit at the table with her and color. I absolutely love all the gorgeous dog designs in this coloring book. I am a huge dog lover, so the intricate dog pictures suit me quite well. Each picture is full of small details and patterns to color. I consider this book as created for the more advanced artist because of the intricacy of the designs. I love spending a few hours over a few days working on a single picture. Colored pencils, gel pens, and fine-tip markers are all perfect mediums for coloring in Amazing Dogs Adult Coloring Book.I love that the page in Amazing Dogs Adult Coloring Book contain designs on only one side. I have an extensive collection of colored pencils, but I also love markers and have developed a recent love of gel pens. Both markers and gel pens can bleed through paper, so I cannot use either on double-side pages. With this coloring book, I can use both! In fact, the first picture that I colored was of the shih tzu (just like my Espen) with gel pens. The ink bled through to the back of the page, which was perfectly fine because there was no second image to ruin on the other side. This coloring book is absolutely perfect for coloring with just about every type of drawing utensil. I am overall extremely pleased, and I look forward to working on all the beautiful dog pictures in my copy of Amazing Dogs Adult Coloring Book which I received in exchange for my honest opinion!

Each picture is single-sided, so you do not have to worry about bleed through to the next page. The breeds depicted in this coloring book, in order of how they appear in the coloring book are: 1.) Bulldog, 2.) Chihuahua, 3.) Doberman, 4.) Rottweiler, 5.) Boxer, 6.) Great "Danish" (Dane?) 7.) Bloodhound dog, 8.) Collie, 9.) Bull Terrier, 10.) Dalmation, 11.) Shih Tzu 12.) Herding Dog, 31.) Old English Sheepdog, 32.) Red Chinese Tibetan MastiffThe pages would appear to be of normal coloring paper quality. They are not waxy or thin. I would recommend using fine tip markers, gel pens, or colored pencils. Colors or anything that is thick would not work, as there are a lot of intricate spaces. I have used gel pens on the pictures, and they work very well. I have not noticed any bleed through, but that also depends on the individual user. Depending on how hard you press on the coloring item that you are using, and also how many times you go over the same spot plays a great deal on how much bleed through you will get. I have seen some coloring books for adults that have the black backing on their pages, which would have been nice to see in this book. This further prevents any bleed through to the next page. Some of the dog breeds are very easy to tell, while others takes a little bit of guess work or familiarity with dogs. I was a little disappointed in that the German Shepherd (my favorite breed) was not depicted better on its page. It could have had the "classic" Shepherd "stack" (or pose) or other features that GSDs are well known for. The only way I could tell that it could have been a GSD was the tail and the masking on the muzzle. The book also has a lot of circular backgrounds behind the dogs, which after a while makes the book start looking the same/repetitious. I believe that incorporating different backgrounds or shapes (maybe triangles or even landscape for an example) would have kept the book exciting all the way through. I also think that the editor should have proof read the name listing of the breeds, as how they appear is exactly how I typed them (such as the "San" Bernard). Other that these stated points, I enjoy the coloring book and look forward to seeing other volumes regarding dogs in the future. Maybe the illustrator could do a volume entirely on a specific breed (such as the German Shepherd).

I received this coloring book for free to try and review; regardless this is my 100% honest opinion. I've always loved to color, back when people thought I was nutty for doing it so now it is nice that it is trendy so people no longer look at me weird when they see me coloring. I like this coloring book for adults because it has a lot of little details to color in adding to the experience. When I have a lot of big open space to color in or the same things over and over it makes coloring tedious and no longer fun. LOVE the little details around the dogs and even a few on the dogs directly to break up the open space on them as well. The book itself is a bit smaller than a regular coloring book which is about the size of a standard sheet of printer paper. This is the same width but slightly shorter. I don't mind, the amount of page that is there is nicely filled and gives me lots to focus on. I would purchase this for others and I will have a ton of fun coloring in it myself. I use both colored pencils and gel pens to color and the paper handles both really well.
