I bought this wanting to have a nerf fight with some friends and it blasted great. It was fun, accurate, and long range. It could shoot super far. 100% worth the money.

This little nerf gun is the best invention for cats. The balls don’t hurt when you are detouring your lovely little holy terror away from the blinds that he has successfully destroyed and before the cat (this demon of a feline species) can figure what just happened he is instantly redirected into chasing the nerf projectile. I only wish I had found out about this sooner. Then I wouldn’t be buying new blinds. PS…..shoulda got a dog.

Friend asked for this for Christmas. I tested it out before wrapping it, it was sturdy, and easy to play with.

I am really enjoying this blaster a lot! It is larger than a Kronos of course but considering it holds 15 rounds compared to the Kronos’ 5, the moderate increase in size isn’t bad at all. It’s the same length as a Kronos, just wider because of the round chamber and the guard which sticks Putin front of the handle makes that area larger. It hits with the same power one expects from the Rival line but priming can be a little more difficult for some with smaller hands. For adults and older teens it isn’t an issue but for younger kids it can be a hassle. This is the case with other Rival blasters so this too is expected. Accuracy is pretty decent. I find it on par, though harder hitting, with the considerably smaller Knockout. Loading is very similar to the Artemis and Hades; slide back the ‘cover’ and load 3 rounds into 5 chambers. The rounds once loaded don’t fall out as they are a tad larger than the opening they are being squeezed into. Overall, a great new addition to the Rival line. As with the recent Takedown, I wish they would have made the priming handle ‘grip pier’ or a little more contoured so your hand grips into it better while priming but nonetheless this is a great blaster for the price. OMG... these are so fun.. I'm 42, bought two for my son (9). Ignore the stupid age rating on these, they are perfect for a 9-year old. The Nerf Ultra guns, which are rated for younger kids than these, are WAY MORE PAINFUL. I'll get shot by one these guns over a Nerf Ultra gun, those leave a mark. Only annoying thing is the balls roll around and are much more work to pick up. Imagine that, the balls roll around..... As always, wear eye protection..

I grew up during the time when Nerf guns, you know, sucked. They didn't shoot far, even the magazine fed ones would lose velocity because of the friction from the barrel length. So I had very low expectations for the new versions....and boy did I pay the price. It's not Nerf anymore, it's the middle ground between nerf and Airsoft. They ACTUALLY shoot up to 100 feet, they're somewhat accurate, and they hit pretty hard. Not like Airsoft, but a few levels higher than the gentle flick of little foam darts. But if your kid complains that it hurts too much I suggest telling them to suck it up. It doesn't hurt TOO bad. I got shot in the eye and still lived to tell the tale. Not that I'm saying being shot right in the eyeball at 10 feet away was a pleasurable experience by any means, but you definitely don't want to. Wear goggles, please. You won't get a black eye, but it hurts pretty bad. Wouldn't hurt to treat it like an Airsoft gun either. Keep the safety on, don't aim it directly at yourself, prevent negligent discharges, all that stuff.
