Hot dry noodles are one of the traditional snacks in Wuhan China. In 1930 the recipe for these tasty noodles was accidentally created during a kitchen accident when flavorful sesame oils were accidently spilled on traditional noodles and amazing seasonings were added. The flavorful noodles have been a popular Wuhan favorite since 1930. Hankow instant noodles are a wonderful dish in the Wuhan tradition.

Hot dry good noodles
Love these. Not as good as the real Re gan mien, hot dry noodles, from Wuhan but they are awesome for instant

The sad part is that they are really a local specialty ...
I used to have the 'home cooked' dry noodles when I lived in Wuhan, China. The name is really 'Hankou' for the Hankou district of Wuhan in The Hubei province. These packaged noodles you can still buy at the supermarkets in the city. The sad part is that they are really a local specialty in the city, no other city I traveled to could quite match the taste. But they are so good, they became my only breakfast while I lived there. At the time the little restaurant I visited every morning sold the noodles, fried bread, and a hot, sweet, rice beverage for about 12 yuan, or $2.00 US. It was nice to find them on this site.

I really didn't like the taste of these noodles
I really didn't like the taste of these noodles. The sauce is quite good, but the noodles themselves had a stale/off taste. I was also a bit disappointed to see that these are manufactured in China.

Good taste, but too expensive
Taste pretty good, but not worthwhile, too expensive

overpriced
The noodle tastes good, but $55? You must be kidding me. 1/4 to 1/5 of that price would be about right. Get it from Weee! instead if you're from California.
