Dorman 615-380KIT Intake Manifold and Valve Cover Kit Compatible with Select Buick/Chevrolet Models (OE FIX)

If you are struggling with the OBD code P1101, on a Chevy Cruze 2014 (and other years) get this Dorman set - intake manifold and valve cover. A poorly designed check valve in the OEM intake manifold leads to the P1101 code. The failed check valve will then lead to a damaged PCV valve that is molded in your valve cover. Replacing your OEM intake manifold with this improved design from Dorman, should resolve your P1101 code. I recommend replacing the valve cover at the same time. These Dorman parts are good quality and fit just like the OEM components. It's good to see parts suppliers finding the design flaws in OEM parts and coming up with better designed parts. Good fit and replacement for original component.

Instructions were thorough and complete for all three components: valve cover, intake and hose.Straightforward install, should take someone with average mechanic skills 1-2 hours.One piece of advice. Test the check valve in the bypass(?) hose before you install it: you can first blow into it (air should go thru) and then draw air thru it from the same end (no air should be drawn thru) to confirm that the check valve is working.The check valve on mine was bad (discovered after I installed it), but Dorman customer service replaced it right away.I recently had to remove the Dorman intake with the upgraded orange PCV valve element after 13 months and 10,000 miles -- no fault of Dorman, the turbo bypass valve that mounts to the underside of the intake had failed (you should probably replace this at the same time as the intake rather than reusing the bypass valve on the old intake to avoid having to take off the intake later to replace it like I had to) -- and the orange PCV valve element was still secure and in good shape, so it looks like the Dorman upgrade to the OEM intake design is holding up.So far, so good, looks like this is going to last.

I originally thought this may be a quality product…. Couple things. Your throttle body bolts may be a hair too long. Pay attention when bolting your existing throttle body to the new intake. I noticed a hair line gap at top, I was able to shim the bolts with a washer… not a huge deal but a change from old to new. The thing that really ticked me off. Instructions explicitly state to replace oil cap o ring with the one they provide….DO NOT DO THIS. They mean the oil fill tube, which you’ll either want to order new or reuse yours, that o ring replaces that. The actual oil cap o ring which I cut off I now have to replace, which they don’t provide. One star for wrongful instruction.Update: Zero stars. Stay away from this Dorman product. Intake tolerances not close to OEM. I stated that earlier in the review. Also the valve cover DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY on the engine. I went as far as getting ANOTHER gasket. It will leak oil all over your engine. Now I have to go to auto parts and buy a different one. I would return it but I do not feel like taking the intake of the car again. BUYER BEWARE!
