Great for airing lawn and removing finer debris.
Got this at the same time as the Ryobi RY18SFX35A-0 battery scarifier and used it after the main scarifier roller. It can be quite abrasive so use on maximum height, only move in a forward direction and preferably pick a dry day. Flicks all sorts of small twigs, grit and finer thatch off surface as well as puncturing ground with oxygen feeding holes for grass roots. I would recommend using in combo with the Ryobi RAC822 debris catcher basket - shouldn't fill too quickly if you've scarified first with original blade reel. Easy to fit, just remove two allen screws, pull out scarifier reel and swap for aerator - takes seconds. On a lower height setting it can be used to till bare ground for re-seeding. Worked for me anyway!

Works fine with my Ryobi scarifier. Although, not a massive difference from the attachment that came with the machine.

Works great at collecting debris off the lawn, but won’t punch holes in your lawn
Great as a light scarifier attachment/power rake. Won’t punch aeration holes in the lawn and I knew that before I purchased, and didn’t buy it for that reason. This works great at giving your lawn a light dethatching and scraping up dead matter to let your lawn breathe.

Works fine, but not sure it does anything different to the other roller/cylinder
I bought this to use it in the Ryobi 18v battery scarifier and it works fine, but I'm not sure it actually does anything different to the roller/cylinder which comes supplied as standard with the machine. I'd wait before buying and see what you think of the unit with the stock wheel before buying this one. Don't rush into getting it. Also, I've said this in other reviews but will mention here too, the collection box for the scarifier is useless, it clogs immediately and collects nothing, so don't bother with that either. Just use the scarifier without a collection box and then 'hoover' up the debris after with your mower on a high setting.
