Powerfull, fast tree felling tool
Great tool! Every arborist should have one of these. I've been cutting trees professionally since 2005. I've spent years falling trees in a forest using primarily an axe, wedges, and cutting technique to control the direction of fall; a couple years pulling hazard trees away from powerlines in remote areas; and years climbing and removing/pruning trees in an urban setting using every tool you can think of.In a short month of owning this, its become a favorite tool of mine, and I keep it in my truck. Simply put it ads extra peace of mind and saves pounding on wedges or hauling on ropes when felling trees against their lean. I still use the wedges and ropes, but this tool changes things. Use it for a while and you'll see. It's faster than setting a line in a tree to pull it down. In cases where wedges could barely do the trick, but you want a little extra insurance because there's a building or something under the lean, this thing shines. The only improvement they could make is a better release lever to unwind the thing. The current set-up can get your finger caught in the gear or your hand gets whacked by the handle.
