The Adventures of Mali & Keela: A Virtues Book for Children Review: Great book - highly recommended - This is a great book. The stories are exciting, the illustrations are lovely, and the way the virtues are weaved through the stories is very nicely done. Rather than being labored or old-fashioned as some books in this genre are, this is a really fun and relevant read. The adventures are beautifully written for kids. I was very impressed with the well thought out descriptions of virtues that the characters had demonstrated in the stories. The section at the end of each story was great for getting discussion happening and it really helped to get the children thinking and talking about virtues. If you're looking for a book to read with your kids that is practical and rich in moral substance I highly recommend this one. There are valuable life lessons for everyone in this book. This should be on the bookshelf of every home, and they should put a copy in every classroom too! Review: Loved this book so much! Sad to be finished with it. - I found this book through a homeschool mom's blog. I was looking for a book to add to our morning basket. Every morning before starting our school day, the kids would eat breakfast and I would sip my coffee and read them a chapter. Each chapter teaches 4 virtues in a cute adventurous story. At the end of each story, there are examples of how the characters displayed each one of these virtues and also discussion questions. They are all written in a very simple, kid friendly way. My 4 and 6 year old really loved our mornings with Mali & Keela and after each chapter's discussion, I felt like they really had an understanding of the virtues that we talked about and how we can recognize and use them more often in our daily interactions. Adding this book to our morning routine really helped set a great tone for our day. I wish I could give Mali & Keela more than 5 stars and even more, I wish that the author would keep on writing these books! We need more!!

Adored by 5 year old
My 5 year old son loves this book! Like most 5 year olds I know, my son wants to be a hero. It's not always easy looking up to Superman and Batman. Their heroics aren't exactly something a small child can aspire to. These stories are different. They very gently teach the true and attainable ways of behaving like a hero and treating other people with kindness. My son loves that the stories are adventurous and I really appreciate the gentle positive messages woven throughout. I'm so glad I purchased this book!

Nice
I like that this is not punch you in the face preachy morality tales. It's a book of stories you can also learn from. Virtues books aren't typically my thing but this is a good one

Sneaky learning.
My daughter loves these stores and asks me to read them to her often. I love that she’s enjoying read aloud time and learning great character traits at the same time.

Perfect for starting the homeschool day
My kids are 6 & 4 and they LOVE these stories! Very silly and cute - super simple and just what I was hoping it would be: a conversation starter about important virtues. I only wish the book was longer!

Such a beautiful book. The storyline is simple, the artwork amazing, and the link to math is wonderful.

great book for my 8- year old!
Book arrived quickly and right away my 8 year old son picked it up and started reading. It took him the first chapter to get into the book as it's structured a little different with moral of the story following each but quickly understood the pattern. It's a great read and provides an opportunity for parents to discuss the story as it progresses through the virtue references ( a rare opportunity in today's world!). Enjoy...

I love everything about this book. It is exactly what my school kiddos needed as they are a close-knit group and get into squabbles often. They love the adventure of the story and I love the question/discussion boxes after each chapter that reinforce the virtues in the story.

Each story provides a talking points for at least four virtues - and the guide at the end of each helps you to see the story from this point of view. Good training for a story reader - how to recall parts of stories and the lessons that we are taught. All-round beautiful. Recommended.

I wanted to give my little granddaughters some guidance on how to be responsible members of society but in a way that made sense to them by engaging their interest. This book does exactly that, so in today's rapidly changing society it is a great tool. they can identify with the characters and understand the reasons for making the moral choices we all must make.
