5DV00829000 Xenon HID Ballast Headlight Control Unit Module Compatible with Au-di B-M-W F-ord Jaguar Land Rover M-'ercedes S'-aab 9-3, Part# 5DV 008 290-00

Replaced BMW OEM ballast that was malfunctioning with this part. Seems to be decent value for the money. Function and fit the same as the part it replaced. Time will tell if it will hold up, but I have been running with it for a month now of daily use and I have not experienced any issues with it so I am optimistic that it will hold up just fine. At this point in the evaluation, I would buy it again, should I need to replace the other OEM ballast, but as previously mentioned, I only have a month of use in on this , and will reserve my final judgement until it has a bit more time to prove that it’s a good replacement option. It certainly was priced well and readily available.4/6/25-Update-The part is still going strong with a bit over 6 months of use. No issues. Definitely worth it and I would buy it again.

This Ballast worked perfectly for 20 dollars its a great value

Obviously when you buy a non OEM part, you take the chance that it will be poor quality. They claim they offer a 12 month warranty on the product. I decided to take the chance and If it broke claim the warranty. Once you purchase the product, the seller won’t answer any messages. Mine broke after a few months (car is garage stored and less than 500 miles). I reached out to the seller but they don’t answer. Amazon also cannot help because it broke after the return window. Just get the OEM part or go with a different trusted sellers. Might be a few extra bucks but at least you’ll get it done right the first time. Avoid this seller

After less than 2 months, it comes on when it wants to, I went back in to make sure my connection was tight and it was and still, it's intermittent.

Worked for about a month. Bad quality
