Great ending for this imaginative fantasy series.
I timed reading this series just right. I read the first two books late last year so reading the third and final book , the characters were familiar to me.I thought the third book had a tighter plot and execution then the first two books. Overall it was a great read. She refreshes your memory of the first two books throughout the book, so if it has been a few years since you read the first two books you will not get lost on what happened in the earlier novels. If you are new to the series well by all means get the earlier books and read the whole series. It is well worth your time. This author's imagination is on fire in this series.

Well worth the wait.
I picked up the kindle edition on the day of release. The book is just incredible and one of if not the best series I have read in the past 20 years. I picked up the trade pb today for the collection. No offense is intended towards the author. However POX on the publisher for changing formats on the printed traded. You should be embarrassed. We all know that was not an artistic decision and done only to save money, while charging more for the book. No more Angry Robot published books for me. Please some small press pick this series up for a Hardcover run!!! I will be all in.

Old wisdom
Is it our future or our past that is reflected in these wretched characters and other world brokeness. There is an old wisdom that permeates the worlds of Kameron Hurley. An ancient observer of the future and past who captures every disgusting detail that cannot be unseen.

My favorite book in the saga!
Devoured this book within two days and loved it! All the characters you know and love bounce off each other in new and fun/awful/very Kameron Hurley ways.Definitely my favorite book in the saga. There's a reveal about halfway through that had me literally standing up and screaming.I'd read Empire Ascendant a long while back--if you're wondering if you need a refresher on the characters before diving in, don't worry, they'll remind you who they are very quickly =)

Bittersweet
Very unexpected way to resolve this, though I needed a refresher on babes and who was who before I could the imagination engine going properly. As always Hurley's work leaves you feeling a little hopeful, a little sorrowful, and wonderfully bruised.

I haven't read a lot of sci-fi fantasy but this was amazing. Great ending highly recommend it. A lot of unique perspectives.

A Fabulous Conclusion to a Fabulous Series
I love it when the last book makes the first books even better. An exciting and thoroughly enjoyable book, funny and gross and violent and morally fraught in all the ways I've come to expect from Hurley.

Some of Hurley’s best work
Beautiful, bold, and brutal. I loved every second of this book. If you’re a fan of multiple worlds, engaging magic systems, and morally gray characters, this is the book for you

What?
Kameron Hurley's Worldbreaker trilogy finally reaches it's conclusion. The first book, The Mirror Empire (2014) was superb, a brilliantly executed multiple-worlds fantasy that was a real shot-in-the-arm for the genre, and truly original, one of the strongest starts to a fantast series for many a year. The follow-up, Empire Ascendant (2015), continued this good form, and largely avoided most of the issues that middle-volumes can fall into.So here's the final volume, one I've been looking forward to, and...Oh dear. This is not good. I seem to be reading a different book to all the other reviewers on here, but it seems to me that Hurley has lost all enthusiasm for her story, and instead of writing a book simply put words-on-a-page to deliver product. Bland, badly written, boring and dull as dishwater. The spark, passion and narrative drive of the first two books is totally absent. How can an author write like a genius for two volumes then deliver tosh this? I'm glad that the other reviewers enjoyed it, but sheesh, the drop off in quality is quite remarkable. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed. I'm over half way through and I just can't bring myself to finish it. Sorry.

Books 1 & 2 are worth reading first. These books are legendary. Great SciFi / Fantasy Fiction :)

Great ending
As always Hurley has us drowning in story, unable to see up or down, just breathing in the ocean. A great end to the series .
