Taos Footwear Women's Zen Sandal

These sandals ahave a soft enough footbed to be comfortable but have a high arch and don’t bend a lot which is great for top of the foot arthritis. I can walk miles in them with no discomfort. The only trying I can think of that would be an improvement would be a slightly longer strap for people with wide feet or as a foot swells throughout the day. There’s very little room for adjustment with the length of the strap

I am one of those people who wears a shoe until it falls apart. So I don't purchase one until I'm pretty much sure it's the right match.These Taos Sandals were a great decision. I wore these almost every day for around four months, and these shoes have carried me for miles, through rainforests and city streets.They are incredibly comfortable, and they provide the support needed for highly active people. The bed molds to the foot wonderfully, and the sole has barely worn down even after extensive use. The straps are comfortable and sturdy. I find that they don't rub on the problem areas that most sandals have.Some things to note: These shoes are great for hiking, but they don't handle water or mud very well. (The price for walking on clouds.)The Velcro will wear down, but so far it still functions wonderfully. The shoes are heavy compared to some brands, but I find that reassuring. The footbed can retain odor but is easily managed with some airtime.Not everyone's foot is the same, so in case you're wondering. I have higher arches and thinner feet. Though the straps and sole will adjust to any width.Taos has a new and pleased customer, the next time I'll be purchasing any shoe or sandal. This company will be the first place I'll look.

I love the look and feel of these sandals but they really should have had half sizes. I usually wear a women’s 10 or 10 1/2 so I bought a size 10 I. Our local department store. My foot covered the length of these sandals almost exactly with no room whatsoever to spare. I ordered the next size up, an 11, from Amazon. The fit lengthwise is okay as it gives me some room in the back and front but when my foot is centered on the sandal, there is at least a 1/2 inch of air between my heel and the back strap. There is no way to tighten the very back strap. If I slide my heel to meet the back strap there is about an inch of empty space at the front. I am currrently undecided as to whether to keep. It’s a pity- either a half size or the ability to tighten the back strap (independently of the upper straps) would have solved the problem.

I tried this on the recommendation of a friend who loves the brand. I had hopped that even though I have a wide foot that due to other's reviews they would somehow fit my foot. Unfortunately I found my toes at risk as they poked out beyond the soul and between the straps. There is a lot of soul support. I truly wish they had fit as they look great and felt good except for my toes. I gave them to a friend who has an average width foot and she was delighted. They are worth the investment.

My toes are inside the shoe and fit but there is a lip around the toe area that bumps my foot and irritates my toes. I would have to go up a full size from a 9 to a 10 to resolve that problem but then the shoe would be too long . I don’t care for the design bc it makes the size I wear too short. I should have returned them because I can’t wear them snd only tried them in for an hour or so inside the house.

I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7 in a sandal (or a 37 Euro). The 7 was not only long, but the arch is hard, and hit in front of the arch of my foot. Ouch. I wish they had worked. This looks like a great walking sandal, if they fit you. The grey/sage is a beautiful, medium grey. The sage isn't obvious unless you look for it.

The Zen is a beautiful well made sandal. I am keeping it, however, I find the sandal to be quite narrow at the arch area & it is kind of hurting my right foot more than I like, & I don't have wide feet. I wear a 8.5, got the 9 & they fit well. If you have wide feet, I wouldn't recommend this sandal. In closing, I would recommend this sandal. I ordered the gray & the color goes with everything, but for a medium width sandal, I just thought they would be a tad bit wider.

I love these sandals except for two things. First, the arch is very high and somewhat hard. This is a little uncomfortable for my flat feet. Secondly, I ordered the Grey/Sage color, but in reality, it is more grey/lavender (especially when outside). While I still like the sandals, if you don't want lavender, I would suggest not buying these. The adjustable straps are great for a perfect fit. I just wished the sage had been sage and not lavender. Still cute!
