Elise Hayden Duet Concertina, Accordion Reeds Squeeze box

I love this instrument!A decent concertina is almost always an expensive thing, so I was a little concerned about this one being less than $500. I've been playing it for about a month now, and I find that my concerns were unfounded.I used to have one of those horrible cheapies mass manufactured in China... leaking air, slow action on the buttons and out of tune reeds. This is nothing like that. The Elise has good solid construction and plays well in tune. I've performed with it in a large "guitar jam" setting a couple of times, and it stood up to the test admirably.Only real downside is that it isn't fully chromatic, and lacks a G#/Ab and a D#/Eb, but I knew that going in.

I just received my Hayden duet concertina. It appears to be very solidly made and has a good organ like voice without being overly loud. I do have some experience in playing instruments by ear but it only took me about10 minutes to pick out Mary had a Little Lamb. Granted, there are only three notes to the piece. It's gong to take some real practice to coordinate the bellows with the buttons but that's what I bought the instrument fore. It came with an instruction book that will be good enough to get me started and a soft carry bag.
