I built this 20 years ago out of cherry and everyone that sees it loves it! The plans were good but the vcr tape that came with it then was very helpful. I bought it from Shopsmith then. All seven of my grandchildren have had their pictures taken on it. :) I also added the mane which is very cool. It has some bumps and bruises but still looks great. I do have to fix the handhold as the threaded rod has stripped out of the walnut handles. I'm thinking a threaded insert would be better.
