Excellent - Answered all my questions and more.
Thank you for this most valuable resource! Thanks to this book, I really understand how to sell a business this time. Last go around I relied on a broker and didn’t make as much as I could have and I gave up 10% to the broker. This time I know what I’m doing thanks to this book.

The Cure for Seller’s Remorse
On a quick count of my highlights from this book there are more than 31 mistakes identified in this book a business owner could make while selling their business. The Art of Selling Your Business will help you avoid these costly mistakes. While Warrilow’s excellent book, Built to Sell, describes how to create a business that a buyer would want to buy, The Art of Selling Your Business describes the business selling process from beginning to end. Here’s a quick list of some of what you’ll discover within this book:1. The most important step of all, creating a vision for what your life will be like after you exit your business. Avoid remorse creating a plan for your life after you sell your business. Great advice as I personally know several former business owners who got their exit number but fell into depression because they had nothing to do but hit the refresh button for the balance in their brokerage account.2. Uncovering the myth that all business owners get the best valuations during the highest points of business cycles.3. The one-page document you should create to pitch your business to prospective buyers. And, why you should create this document now even if you have no plans of selling your business for several years.4. When you should “undress” by revealing confidential data and why revealing this data to early could result in giving away data to new competitors.5. When and what to tell employees about selling your business.6. Who your potential buyer is so you don’t waste your time with the wrong people.7. Generating multiple offers to give yourself leverage.8. What a LOI is and isn’t so you prevent huge disappointments.9. The different types of potential buyers and what each is looking for when they examine your business as a potential acquisition.10. How and why to create a bidding war for your business.11. Excellent advice in how to think about earnouts so you get your number12. A huge pitfall with seller financing and all those vendor accounts you opened years ago when you had nothing and signed a personal guarantee.13. How and why to “Nudge” for a little more money in your deal.14. Avoid getting warn down buyers playing games with you during due diligence.15. The types of seller representatives and how to avoid the bad ones.16. …and about 300 more. Just buy the book already. It’s worth the five stars and maybe worth thousands or millions of dollars to you.Anyone selling a business must read this book. It could save you a lot of money or more importantly, ensure you are happy with the all of the provisions of the transaction.

No Matter How Big or Small, You Can Learn How to Sell Your Business
"The Art of Selling Your Business" is exactly what it sounds like - a practical guide to help you sell your business. Warrillow helps you understand the key aspects of selling your business - what it is worth, how you can negotiate with buyers, etc. This is based on the author's own experience. The only critique is that there were a few grammar issues that could be addressed. The language is pretty simple, and there isn't anything too complex in what is being presented. However, if you want a straight-to-the-point book with plenty of examples, exercises (there is even a free workbook), and practical information, then this book is for you.

A Lesson Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know
In his book, John Warrillow writes about a lesson he learned while attending MIT in the Entrepreneurial Masters Program many years ago. It was during a lecture from Stephen Watkins. It is a lesson every business owner needs to know - "Your job as an entrepreneur is to hire people to sell your products and services so you can spend your time selling and marketing your company".So few of us know about, or at least remember, this key lesson. We spend far too much time selling our company's products and services.Having been reminded of that valuable lesson, The Art of Selling Your Business continues, jam packed with strategies and best practices for getting the most value from the sale of your most precious asset - your business, together with excellent stories that land those strategies.Thank you, John. I'm enjoying your book and it's provided a ton of value.

Business Acquisitions
Easy read, but the video interview with two proponents of the book and the author's business acumen provide great context! Still going thru the book, the interview, and taking notes. Really answers a lot of questions I didn't even know I had that are absolutely the linchpin for a purpose-driven business exit.

Excellent! Interesting and a great resource.
With many writers this would be a boring book on negotiating the sale of a business but John's writing is so good that the book is entertaining.I bought the audiobook and then a physical book to use as a resource. I will refer to this often!

Great practial overview of the process of selling your business
I preordered the book for my Kindle once I saw it will be available. I read the previous book John has written and was not disappointed with the purchase. Even if you are familiar with the topic of selling your business I think there are good practical points that will add to your knowledge on this topic.
