Artana Tesla vs Edison: War of Currents

This is a heavy euro-style game. You take on the role of a historical inventor as you try to win the war of currents.You research new technologies for the lightbulb and/or AC/DC current. You purchase patents and build projects around the country.The rulebook is very good. The game is on the heavier side. So learning everything took a game or two to really get it down. But once you understand it the game plays pretty quick.

Tesla vs. Edison is an immensely enjoyable game -- it's satisfying and challenging, and while figuring out the game can come off as a daunting task, it's very worth it. The instructions are intuitively written and easy to use as a guide as you work your way through your first few games. I purchased the game as a Christmas present and it was a big hit all around.

Gave as a gift to an electrician and his family. They loved it and said it was a fun game too. Go Team Tesla!

I play a lot of board games, and I play different types of board games. This is absolutely the most difficult to learn game that I have ever played. We spent over an hour trying to figure it out, and once we did game play was very slow until we got the hang of it. The instructions were pretty difficult to understand.The difficulty comes from the many different types of things that you are trying to do: establish technology, build power grids, enhance your fame and invest in the stock market. It is like having four games in one, it is a lot to work with and figure out. However, if you are familiar with similar building type games (Iike Settlers of Catan) it should be understandable. I have heard there is a youTube video that might have helped.Once you have the rules figured out, it is a fun game, with a lot of different strategies to play with. We will probably play it again.

This rating has nothing to do with play-ability of the game, since I bought it as a Christmas present...still many months hence. What I can comment upon, and thus this entry, is that although it was designed in the U.S., it was made in China, and I'm v-e-r-y disappointed with that.

My science minded kids love this! Good for grownups too.
