UPDATE: DON'T BUY IT FOR USING AS BABY MONITOR, COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE FOR THAT. Motion sensing notifications only work when there is a gap of 10 minutes between each motion. If the baby moves within few minutes of the previous notification, the app won't detect it, won't send a notification!All this when the screen is continuously ON and watching the live camera feed. As I already wrote below, the TAPO APP IS USELESS for motion detection because it stops sending notifications after 5 minutes of turning off the screen.OLD REVIEW: I bought it specifically for using as a BABY MONITOR. Camera is perfect with lots of adjustments and functions. Motion sensitivity is perfect and adjustable.Night view (infrared) IS TOO GOOD, I can even see a tiny 1 inch toy on the bed in pitch black room!The camera app called "TAPO" IS USELESS FOR MOTION DETECTION WHEN MOBILE SCREEN IS TURNED OFF. I have done 100 tweaks in the phone like disabling optimization, enable auto start, battery optimization, lock app in recents tray etc etc. But TAPO app notifications stop after 5-6 minutes of turning off the screen anyways. Obviously it's the fault of App developers because not a single other app gets killed like this like Skype, WhatsApp etc, they run perfectly in the background.So I am forced to keep the phone's screen on continuously to receive timely motion detection notifications. Imagine the battery drain! It's around 10% battery usage per hour with screen on, whereas it will need only 2% battery per hour with screen off!UPDATE: I have found a TRICK to decrease the battery drain while using the TAPO app. I downloaded an app from play store called BLACKR. It turns the mobile screen black (just like a locked screen) without actually turning off the screen. You can make gestures on the black screen to wake it up again. So I run the tapo app then then pull the notification shade down to run Blackr app from the shortcut. Now the tapo app keeps sending notifications for hours while the screen is black, almost like turned off. This way, the battery drain is about 4% per hour which is acceptable.Still I would advice NOT TO BUY TP LINK CAMERA IF YOU NEED IT FOR TIMELY MOTION DETECTION NOTIFICATIONS.

This camera has large view angle, a very good motion detection and clear image and sound. I am using this camera from more than a year.

I bought this camera for my parents' home entrance to monitor drunkards littering. I fitted the camera 3 days after it arrived and it worked for exactly 5 days. It wouldn't even boot ON after that. The camera only has a 7 day replacement and the camera failed on the 8th day. The camera has a 1 year warranty so I called the customer care and they asked me to take it to the regional center and these are only in State capitals or major cities and the nearest one for me was 300 kms away. When I told them the issue, they asked me to send the camera by courier. I had to pay 400 Rs for the courier charge, to mail them the camera, so 2400 for camera + 400 for courier all for working 5 days exactly.The first nightmare started when I informed the regional rep that I have mailed the camera but I'm not a happy customer as I have to pay additional for not my fault. He called me and spoke condescendingly that I he hasn't received the camera yet but I'm complaining of delay. I asked him to read the email again as it was about my experience and the additional cost. Then he said once they receive my unit, they will send a replacement. I called the next week again as I didn't hear back and he said it will take 10 days to send the replacement. The 10 days came and went, no product and no update either. I mailed back and I was promised that the item was in transit from the warehouse. I waited 2 more weeks and nothing arrived. I sent a hard worded email copying their management and support including a person called Shawn Qiu. Again, the regional rep responds that they will ship it shortly either that evening or the next day, so they never even shipped my item the previous weeks when they promised it was in transit. Its been more than a month and I have neither received a replacement nor any update. I have since bought a new camera from another brand and moved on. This is just not fair in this day and age. Save yourself the trouble, find a better alternative. I'll consider legal options against this company, if I do not receive the item or a refund by next week. This is not okay.

I wanted a small, cheap but competent camera that enabled me to watch the baby from any device we could think of.I use Tapo's mobile app with our phones and tablets and Agent DVR for the PCs. Can't go wrong with this little camera.Embedded motion detection is spotty at best and the idea of motion alarms blaring from the camera itself is shortsighted to say the least
