Best strobe light I've ever seen!
This light is fantastic for making a cyclist visible. I use one on both the front and back of my bike and always keep them in strobe mode. The lights definitely get the attention of drivers however this light is not bright enough to light up the road or path in front of you in the evening, for that I recommend a different type of light in addition to this model. I have been an avid cyclist for about 20 and this light is the best there's an a cateye light that I had about 10 years ago, but I don't think they make that one anymore. The light easily mounts to your handlebars so if you're going in somewhere that you might think some piece of crap is going to steal something off your bike you can easily take this off. The two batteries that it takes last a very long time... I'm talking weeks. I just went on a bike tour in Europe and I had this light running whenever I was on the bike and I if I recall correctly the two batteries lasted about 5 weeks, so that's about 30 days of actual cycling and I'd say I was cycling about 6 hours on average per day so that's 180 hours or so on 2 AA batteries. That's the same as 7.5 days.Just buy it, it's a light that could literally save your life from some distracted driver going 45 mph and 2 feet past the right white line while he scrolls through his Instagram. This light is your best bet at getting that person's attention.

Good Entry Level Light
This is a workable light . I have used it to travel at night on a dark country road on a ebike . You cannot make out the potholes but you can seen well enough to navigate . I read the other reviews and I believe using 2 might help . I had purchased a few items and forgot to turn this off you hold the switch until it goes off which isn't intuitive but works well . I was pleased as I wanted white to match my bike . It looks nice and the mount is great . Does what I needed it too but to be honest I am looking for something brighter . Battery life claims by the manufacturer are fairly accurate you can count on at least 40 hours out of the batteries if not the full 80 claimed which is great and use rechargeable ones . I do not feel this was a waste as it is inexpensive and can be used as a flasher and backup light to get home if your second brighter lamp runs out of juice . I decided to buy the cree majicshine knock off and if I have trouble will buy a majicshine battery . I do think night riders need backup or two lights anyways to be safe and these take up very little space they are smaller then one thinks if they have never seen them in person .This was a very good purchase . I had been confused by the switch which was my fault . I have raised the stars to 5 though I have yet to test the longevity . I will update as I learn more . Be safe out there .. always safety first .

Lights up the way
I have several of this bike light. It is easy to put on. Throws out the right amount of light. No reason to buy another brand

Not very bright
Pros:*I love the compact size,* the adjuster is simple yet effective. This makes adjustment so easy*80 hours is really good for constant light* Only 2 batteries, this is maybe the best part*Fairly sturdy, doesn't feel overly cheapCons:Only one major con*Not very brightListen, the situation you are using this for is probably going to determine if its bright enough for you. But if you ride in total or near total darkness, this definitely isn't bright enough. I bike trails at night, not up in the mountains or something but away from the streets. I should've known better. This isn't enough on its own to see very far in front of you if there aren't streetlights nearby. So if you live some place rural or you do like me, other lights should be considered. But, for being compact and taking only 2 AAA batteries, I guess what can one expect?I ended up buying a second light that is half the price and considerably brighter.Admittedly it has a slightly cheaper feel, takes 3 batteries instead of 2, and lasts only 65 hours compared to 80, but the bottom line is its considerably brighter. I use them both simultaneously, and have one on each side congruent to each other like headlights. Combined I have more than enough light with both of them, haven't tried the other one alone but this one definitely wasn't enough. The cheaper brighter one, for all who are curious, is the Bell Dawn Patrol LED Headlight, also available on amazon. If you buy one of each like I did its still under $30 so I am not complaining, but I think brightness should be taken under strong consideration in choosing a bike light.

Bright enough for traffic, not bright enough for dark paths.
First off the light is only $18.00 so I didn't expect a super bright incredible light. However the light did impress me. Here's 2 things that I love about the light.1.) It's extremely well made and the perfect size for your handlebar. It's not to heavy and it totally fits in your pocket.2.) It is pretty darn bright light. However if your on a really dark path with NO lights along the path it still does pretty good job.Overall it's a fantastic light for the money. The light holds up to lights twice the price and like I said it's bright and great for city riding. The ONLY somewhat negative thing is the clip to remove it from the handlebar holder is underneath the light on the front and it's a little tricky to get to but not impossible.I definitely recommend it to anyone doing night riding.

This is the one🌟
I mainly use this light in the flashing mode to be visible to on coming traffic, works great. Cat Eye is a very good brand. Easy to operate, long battery life, beautifully designed. Yes this is the one.

As we wrote earlier, the bracket is not attached. Low quality. I'll have to use super glue to use it at least now until I get another flashlight

Bad reviews: aggregated
Here is a summary of the bad reviews for this product in case you do want to read them...This is my second Hl-EL135 from Cateye: . It is not as bright as a real headlight: It offers enough light to feel safe at night, but I cannot for example see details like tree roots along the canal towpath. . Flimsy mounting mechanism: Personally, I think Cateye have the best mounting mechanisms on the market. They are very secure, but are also ultra convenient when removing accessories. This unit uses the exact same mounting mechanism as my main headlight the Cateye volt-800. . Not waterproof: I took one of these on a 4 month cycle tour around Scotland and the northern isles. The bike was mostly left outside often with the light on the handlebars. It died after about 3 months of use in very wet weather. But I feel that it has enough water resistance to cope if stored inside when not in use. . Not designed to last: Other than the waterproofing, I've not experienced any issues with this item. The plastics, the LEDs or the mounting mechanism. . Battery life short: I use this as my backup light in part because it has very long battery life, more than 100 hours It has a far greater battery life than USB-chargeable options. . Stopped working shortly after purchase: I've not experienced that with either of the units that I've purchased. . Cover is not secure: I've never had the cover come off and I've easily ridden more than 10K miles with this unit attached. . The battery cover doesn't make a full seal: I can see a little gap where the battery cover meets the base of the unit if I examine it, but not big enough to allow water directly through. But they are right it does not have the finish as high-end Cateye products like the Volt-800 for example. But in summary:It is a good quality budget option with a long battery life to use as your primary light. It is a great backup option if you have a USB light. I highly recommend this light if you have a product like the volt-300,400,800 since they share the same mounting mechanism and can be interchanged in seconds.
