WINDCAMP ft 817 3000mah Polymer Lithium Battery Charger Battery Cover w/Stand for Yaesu Ft-817 Gold

This Windcamp 3000mah rechargeable lithium battery replacement for the Yaesu FT-817 works great! The battery came with everything needed to make installation quick and easy. I especially like the look of the gold-colored metal battery door that was unique to this purchase. After the install, I plugged the battery into the provided charger and charged it to full in about an hour. I've been using my 817 for monitoring the ham bands during breakfast and the battery is still going strong days after the initial charge. I'm happy to say, this battery has lasted longer than using plain alkaline batteries and because of its quick recharge time, it makes charging painless. In comparison, the typical 700mah replacement Nicad battery pack for the FT-817 takes around 8-10 hours to charge while higher capacity packs can take up to 16 hours to charge. When using alkaline batteries, I would typically get around 3 hours of intermittent listening out of a set of batteries. That just seemed too wasteful and inconvenient to have to keep changing out alkaline batteries. In addition to the plug-in charger and gold-colored battery door, this battery came with a nice plastic stand for the radio. I can recommend this battery solution and would buy it again.
