Best grass seed ever
This is by far the best grass seed I have ever used. Unbelievable germination rate and fast spreading. I told another person about it and they agree. And best of all, the seed is super small compared to other seeds I've bought. It looks like pollen, so the birds don't mess with the seeds much. All in all, I am completely satisfied.

Best seed I've ever used
This seed is definitely high quality!! It started to germinate in around a week and after the 1st month it looks very good. Its lush and green now. At first I was sceptical but decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Time will tell how it holds up in the summer heat but so far so good.

Poor results / only 12.5 pounds of seed in 25 of bag
Followed the instructions for fertilizing, watering, soilTemp, time of year, etc. Saw results in approx 5% (Generous) of area ( nothing germinated in the other 95% of area). Big disappointment. Also dissapointed that the labeling showed half the weight of the bagBeing their yellow jacket coating. So misleading that this 100% blue grass seed (yes in terms ofMix), butYou are onlyGetting 12.5 pounds of actual seedFor 25Pound bag. Cute they hide the labelFrom their product description.Yellow jacket obviously did nothing to promote higher probability for success.Cannot recommend.

A thick, warm "jacket" for your yard!
So the Amazon AI seems to think that "yellow jacket" grass seed is something you wear. So ignore the ratings.Long story short-- this is premium seed that produces excellent turf IF you can get it to germinate. In my Indiana location and poor soil quality, I've struggled to find any seed that will root quickly enough to establish and spread enough to choke out weeds. I overseeded with this seed three weeks ago and I'm seeing only a bit of germination, despite 3x daily waterings and starter fertilizer. Probably won't know if it took until Spring.I really WANT this seed to work well, and I'm not sure how much of it is my shortcomings as a turf manager, my local conditions, vs the seed itself. Given that I've struggled with *everything*, I'm not going to blame the seed.A test plot grown in a pot showed excellent density and color-- the kind of stuff you'd dream of having in your yard. If only I could get it in the actual yard....

Germinated at 8 days---very fast for KBG
I had a 2'x5' area of mostly dead grass in an all-day-sun part of my yard which is made up of most every kind of grass one can think of, except KBG. In mid-September, I raked out most of the dead grass and added in some fresh topsoil, mixed it up as best I could, spread some of the Barenbrug Turf Blue Pro KBG seed, and lightly covered it up with a bit more topsoil. I watered religiously three times a day in weather that has been in the upper 80's everyday and on day 8, was rewarded with the appearance of lots of tiny sprouts. Today is day 9 and it seems like there is a bit more sprouting. It does not seem to be sprouting evenly, though, because one area in the middle has no sprouts whatsoever. Perhaps birds ate some seed or squirrels dug around (I did see squirrel activity one day). I plan to drop a bit more seed in that area and cross my fingers. I think the Barenbrug "yellow jackets" offer the seed good protection from drying out between waterings and the seed showed very good germination and especially quick for Kentucky Blue. I have a *lot* of seed left over and hopefully I can find the energy to spread the love around my whole yard next August. (Year old grass seed doesn't have as good a germination rate as fresh but I'll just pour more on and hope for the best.)

Germinated and established quickly
You get what you pay for. It’s an expensive blend, but worth it. Established a small golf range area in back yard in about 8 weeks. Mow it at 0.75” and so far this seed blend has handled that height of cut well. Little bit lighter green color. Looking forward to seeing how it handles the heat and how disease prone it is.

Great for Fall Overseeding
Applied Turf Blue Pro seed after raking up dead grass from summer drought. Within 3 weeks the grass thickened up and bare spots filled in.
