This is the best maca powder I have ever used. I have tried others and thought I noticed some benefit. But, with the SunFoods' brand, I notice a huge difference every time I drink it in my smoothies. My mood lifts dramatically and I have much more energy. And this comes from just a tablespoon. I might actually taper it down a bit to make it last longer. I don't need to be that chipper and happy at work - you know, that place where I'm supposed to be miserable!? I'll have a full tablespoon on the weekends instead. In fact, it just started kicking in and that is what prompted me to write a review. Great stuff!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! ;)

It tastes like maca.

I really feel a difference. It has regulated my cycle for sure. The difference I feel isn't necessarily energy, just a feeling of being more leveled. I use a tbsp. each morning. The flavor is not bad at all. I mix it with pureed soybeans and flaxseed in the vitamix. If your cycle is all over the place and you're over 40, I really think it is worth trying. I benefit from it and have already reordered.

Has a slight nutty flavor. I mix it in my morning oatmeal. Really makes a difference in my energy level. I LOVE it!

I heard about this product on Marsvenus.com. John Gray talked about his product regarding balancing your hormones. He mentioned how it got rid of hot flashes in menopausal women. When I heard this I was having hot flashes about 20 times a day. All day and during the night. I hated to use hormone replacement medication and had tried many natural remedies without success. So, I thought I would try this. I put one tablespoon in a glass of water or juice every morning. I felt a little improvement after about 2 weeks and then on the 3rd week they completely went away! I was amazed and have been able to go through the change without anymore hot flashes. I have told several people about this and they are as excited as I am. It is important to use the maca that is grown at high altitudes in the Andes. It produces specific enzymes at high altitudes rather than the maca grown at lower altitudes or sea level it doesn't work. I tried a less expensive brand and it didn't work. I had heard of maca when we lived overseas in South America so I was somewhat familiar with the root.

There is a clear label on the package that states that the FDA has not reviewed the nutritional facts of this product. It's made in CA and it states that it's Organic-non gmo- vegan-raw. I'm a bit confused why the FDA wouldn't be involved in reviewing a product that is meant for human consumption.I (and my husband) have experienced no effect from having put this in my smoothies every morning. It doesn't taste badly, but it's not worth it if we experience no effect. We'll try it for a full month before throwing it out, but right now it's not looking hopeful that we'll purchase this again.
