Morakniv Companion Serrated Knife with fixed Sandovik Stainless Steel Blade. Includes a highly visible sheath with easy release
This Morakniv Companion serrated knife with fixed Sandvik stainless steel blade was fairly sharp on receipt. This knife is another example of an economically priced Moarakniv knife that is a winner. The stainless steel blade is harder to sharpen than the Morakniv Carbon alloy blades. The Sandvik stainless steel blade holds it's edge well & does not corrode or oxidize as easily as the Carbon alloy knives Morakniv offers. When used for cutting, be sure to wash it thoroughly to prevent corrosion from acidic foods or other substances & then dry to prevent water spots. The factory bevel is thinner than most other knives, be aware when sharpening. Your sharpening technique must change for this serrated blade. Lanksy has a portable blade sharpener with 4 sharpening surfaces. This Lansky pocket sharpener has a LONG, tapered, diamond encrusted rod & a ceramic surface to use on serrated blades, also a coarse diamond encrusted fixed surface as well as a fixed fine ceramic surface or plain edged blades. This Latnsky sherpener is a tad heavy as it's housing is metal. This Morakniv knife has an ergonomic patented handle which is cushioned & provides for good griping. I have average sized adult, male, hands & wear large size gloves. I wish the handle of this knife was a bit thicker for my grip. This Morakniv knife is ideal to cut things like rope that benefit from the serrations. The Sandvik Stainless Steel is well suited for use in marine applications.

Good quality very sharp it’s a Moraknive
This is a great fishing knife for cutting up bait very sturdy, very sharp and when you catch it on sale it’s a hell of a deal! I won’t hesitate to buy another one

I think it makes more sense to have a marine knife that is brightly colored and easy to find if dropped
This is my first of sure to be a few Moraknivs. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it had a hole through the end of the handle to secure it with a short cord to the sheath or my belt. I wanted a stainless steel, brightly colored knife for cutting lines and other tasks while sailing and fishing in salt water. The Morakniv Marine Rescue is the only knife that does have a hole in the handle, but the knife tip is blunt and it does not come in a bright color. I think it makes more sense to have a marine knife that is brightly colored and easy to find if dropped.About the knife itself: it is extremely well-built, light and _very_ sharp. Do not use your finger to test the sharpness of any Morakniv. I was stupid and lightly ran my finger tip along the serrated edge of the blade, thinking it would not cut the skin. It made a deceptively painless, but deep and wide cut which opened and bled more than a narrow razor cut would have. Again, do not use your finger to test the blade. It is a tool made for cutting. Treat it with care and respect.

Morakniv Companion stainless Serrated Fixed-Blade knife, fluorescent orange is bright
Amazing value for the money, $20+tax with free shipping. Sharp out of the baggie- no box. The fluorescent orange sheath and colored portion of the handle is a super bright brilliant orange. Great for high visibility. Serration is great for cutting woven synthetic fabric or seat belts. Sheath is designed for right handed use and holds the knife firmly.

Simple and high quality
A nice Morakniv model for boating/crabbing use due to the serrated edge. I like that Moras have a stick tang that extends far into the handle for increased durability. Sheath could be less bulky, but it works just fine.

A knife that is worthy of its many serrations!
The low price of this quality blade push this item into 5 star territory. I zip-tied it to an easy to reach place in my vehicle. If my car flips over, if I drive into water, or if I have to bail someone out of a burning car, I can reach for this thing to slice through seat belts. Also a last ditch weapon to use against carjackers. Now, for "every day life," you'll never know when you need a knife for a minor chore. Example, cutting the bottom off of a water bottle to make a drinking bowl for an animal. I don't want to keep a $60 cold steel in my car, but this $17 knife? I don't mind that a bit. I have another mora knife in my "car kit" in my trunk. Great knives, buy multiples, put them where you'll have access to them when you need them, and never look back. The holster is also good for easily clamping this knife inside or outside of the wastband, depending if you want open carry or concealed. Best damn thing since sliced bread in the knife world.

what a great knife
I have purchased several of these... I gave them to my sons as gifts. they are great to use at camp .I use them for everything. The blade is very sharp. Cuts through rope like a hot knife through butter. I used mine for whittling...never lost its edge.. wont but anything else. Takes some getting used to the hard plastic sheath but it is fine

Shiny!
Sort of a cross between a hunting knife and a kitchen knife. I keep one in in my glove compartment for emergencies. Polished stainless steel blade is unique and the florescent orange color is hard to misplace.
