Finish Line Dry Bike Lubricant

I started using this dry lube after using tri-lube for years. I live in San Diego so it's typically dry terrain here. I stopped using the wet lube because it just attracted dirt to the drive train and if/when the chain got wet it sounded like the chain was grinding by all the dirt on it. Anyway... I switched to this Finish line Dry lube and absolutely love it, the chain stays clean and yet lubricated. When the chain gets wet the dirt pretty much falls off. Cleaning the chain is simple. I use a little diluted simple green and water, hit the chain with a brush quickly and blast it with the hose and it looks like new. Wipe the chain down and apply a fresh coat of Finish line and it's good as new. The 32oz is the way to go, it's the best price and the lube is so good, it won't go to waste sitting in the garage for years.

After every ride I clean our mountain bikes (which mostly get ridden in the dusty, dry desert) and I used Dry Lube on the pivot points, seals, chain, and derailleur gears and pivot points. Our bikes seem to hold up well and are quiet. I have been using dry lube for three years. When I pulled the seals on front fork, the rear hubs, and the crank all was well. The dry lube does not seem to cause build up on the chain and gears. Of course, I do clean them every ride.

I use this lubricant exclusively on my bikes. I felt silly paying $8 for 4 ounces of it locally when I could get it much cheaper in this 32 ounce jug. In my case, I have been reusing my old 4 ounce finish line squeeze bottle to apply the lubricant to the chain. It works well for all of the ways I use my bikes but note that I do not ever ride in the rain and try to avoid wet roads in general while riding. The mountain bike also isn't used in wet any more than is absolutely unavoidable but is beaten to death otherwise. Most of my use has been on a road bike but it seems to work fine on the MTB as well.The lubricant seems to prevent the squeaks for several hundred miles and is not too messy in general use. In my case I do get some specks of it that build up on the top of the chainstay under the chain but it wipes off easily. My only complaint about it is that the lubricant seems to degrade the finish on some derailleurs. My front derailleur was apparently chrome plated (shimano) and I must have not wiped off all of the excess lubricant on some occasion which led to the finish coming off like old clearcoat on a car. I really feel like I have always cleaned off any lubricant so maybe any exposure is enough. Or, the lubricant may have nothing to do with the finish issue but it is the only explanation I've been able to come up with.The only other comment I would make is that when I have done a full cleaning of my chain by submerging it in degreaser and scrubbing with a toothbrush, it seems like it is helpful to do two lubrications the first time around after the chain has dried. I lubricate the chain once, let it set to dry and then lubricate again, let dry again and then wipe off the excess. All subsequent times only require a single application.Reusing the squeeze bottle - While this is probably obvious, it may be helpful to some. To do this, I've just wiped off the tip of the old squeeze bottle, leaned over the jug so the squeeze bottle tip will submerge in the lubricant, squeeze all the air out of the squeeze bottle (slowly while upright), flip, submerge and allow the squeeze bottle to refill itself. Doing this a couple times will put plenty of lubricant into the bottle. Of course make sure to shake the lubricant up first etc so that it is properly mixed.

I bought the smaller bottle of this lube but soon used it up. This large container is use to refill the small squeeze bottle.I like dry lube as it doesn't collect junk on my chain as the oil I was using.

Price was quite reasonable for a very high quality product. Have used it for about 15 BMX races now and it doesn't collect as much grit as other brands and build up grime in the gears is also reduced. Not enough time to see if there is any difference in wear, however my towels have significantly (~50%) less grime on them which would indicate less wear on the chain.

One of the best lubricants I have ever used. I use it to lube any metal parts around the house, hinges, tools, bikes, equipment and cars. I even used it to lube my new trailer ball since I did not have grease handy. It held up nicely and I don't get my clothes full of grease. Give it a try where other lubricants have failed and chances are this one will do the job.
