Our adolescent squirrel loves these!
I was a little concerned about all the reviews citing that squirrels had no interest, but the little guy who stays in our backyard absolutely loves them! He chooses to eat them even before the walnuts we provide. I had no issues with the dust that everyone mentions, but I also don’t break them apart. Just drop one pellet in the bowl and I can be sure our little guy has enough nutrients to stay healthy. Shipped quickly - I’ve only had it for a day now, so I can’t speak to how long they last or any of the comments regarding mold forming, but I will update my review if anything unfortunate pops up. So far, very satisfied with the product, the amount that’s in the bag, and it’s quality!

Syrian Hamster Loves It
Over the course of transitioning my hamster from his old pet food brand that was fed to him at the store to this new pellet, he kept picking this pellet over his old food brand. Not surprised though as these pellets have been recommended often by the hamster care community. He gets so excited when I pull out these pellets and eats them as soon as I give it to him. It’s such a huge difference from when he’d leave his other brand of food alone for hours. The food was packaged in an airtight bag and seemed fresh. I transferred it to a resealable container as the bag it came in wasn’t resealable once opened.

Only for pet squirrels not wild squirrels
I got this for my pet squirrels I’ve seen a couple of reviews about squirrels won’t touch it it’s because it’s a healthy food for pet squirrels because pet squirrels need a special formulated food to get all of the vitamins that they need and wild squirrels prefer just the less healthy food for them if your looking for something for wild squirrels I would get almonds or walnuts instead or even pumpkin seeds they are a natural dewormer for squirrels

Thank you Mulberry!
Our little hamster (Norbert) started getting little tumor type growths on his right front and right rear paws. We took Norbert in and the vet said the same thing we concluded, that the petstore stuff was like eating junk food.We as a family have decided to make the move to organic type foods and decided it was not fair for our newest family member to be eating that GMO nonsense from the petstore. The vet got the tumor looking thing down a bit, but not gone completely. However since moving to this food, it has not gotten any larger.Norbert also likes it a lot. Sure the pieces are the size of his head but just nibbles away at it fine.Thank you Mulberry Lane Farm!

DO NOT BUY THIS FOOD!
You are probably like me and did research on the best food blocks for your animals. This food used to be the best but it is no longer.Inotivco no longer produces Teklad 8604 and has been discontinued for over 2 years now!You can even check on their website that the food only has as shelf life of 9 months!!!This reseller who repackages this food says it has a expiration date of 2027 which is just ludicrous and criminal.DO NOT BUY Tekland 8604. Instead buy their still in production foods which you can find a list of on their website.I had no idea this was a discontinued product till I opened the bag and smelt how horrible it was.I then did further research by contacting the manufacturer to get details, found out it was discontinued for a long time now and only had a shelf life of 9 months.

Good healthy food for my Syrian hamster
Great food for Syrian hamster. The picture shows what I have left. It lasts along time. My dwarf loves this food, but I had to buy a separate food for him because this one has molasses. (Teklad Global 2018 for dwarf)

Squirrels won't touch it
I am giving this three stars because I have no reason to doubt that it might be a healthy food for squirrels and other rodents. However, that only helps if they will eat it. I feed squirrels on my second-floor fire escape in what started out as a bird feeder but the squirrels took over, and I have enjoyed them too. But, they won't eat this stuff. I haven't seen even one squirrel eat even one of these. The closest they have come is to pick some of them up to clear the way for food that was beneath it. Consequently, they are throwing some of it out of the bowl but I don't think they're eating any of it. I have tried not including any peanuts or grocery-type squirrel food, thinking that maybe they'll eat it if that's all there is, but they don't. So, while this may be perfectly good food, as far as nutrition goes, you need to add some flavor to it. Otherwise, it's like feeding liver to your children; they'd rather starve than eat it.

Bonding opportunity!
The media could not be loaded. We are always looking for ways in which to bond with our hamsters. Our dwarf Roborovskis really enjoy nibbling on these treats! There a good thickness which allows us to hold onto them while offering to for hamsters.
