I grew up in Dayton. My dad was 10 years old when the Great Flood occurred. Had a great effect on my dad - he spoke of it often. Well written and well documented.

This is a well written tribute to the spirit of the people that lost so much and yet prevailed over tragedy, rebuilding their lives, while building a system to prevent "the great flood" from happening ever again. I had heard the stories from my grandparents but this book magnifies the tenacity of an entire city to overcome the catastrophic consequences of this event.

It wasn't alright, just didn't expect it to be almost all photos.

Great book on the historical facts of the Dayton flood of 1913. A must read for those interested in the city of Dayton as well as those who study flood prevention. Would recommend this book HIGHLY.

This book has pictures that I have never seen before. It brings to life the tragedy of that day for the residents of our city.
